The service was excellent and the restaraunt was really pretty, but the food was not anything worth praising. It was very average barbecue, small portions, overpriced, and they gave me wrong sides. Perhaps it was just me being unlucky but I don’t see myself ever coming back. The BBQ here is top notch! The brisket has a perfect blend of smoke and seasoning. The sausage is smoked to perfection. Highly recommend the Southside combo platter with beans and potato salad. Large enough to share for 2. Grab an amazing dessert to go. The banana pudding is very tasty! I remember going to this place when it was a tiny shack and your clothes smelled like smoke when you left. The food then was crazy great. Fast forward 25 years and this sterile concrete and stainless steel modern building is here -- and they lost their mojo. Automatically, since it's BBQ I can't give lower than 3 stars. The brisket is pretty good, but, the jalapeno sausage didn't taste like jalapenos, and not that great overall. The slaw was only OK and the chopped beef was OK. Overall, it's now just another BBQ joint with nothing remarkable to it. Not bad, not great, pretty much in the middle. Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

They redid their menu and I really like it a lot now. I like their turkey sandwich a lot!! The turkey was moist and seasoned so well! I think it was smoked but I'm not sure. The seasoning was perfectly flavored and I added some of their mild BBQ sauce just for a little extra. I also liked their pinto beans side with it. I was having a bad day and needed some comfort food and this with a banana pudding (with the vanilla wafers!!!) Was just what I needed to feel better.
