Quality ingredients, good tomato sauce, & crunchy crust with a soft inside, great pizza 👍🏻 originally thought it was a sit & order but the atmosphere & service was lovely. The hostess was sweet and accommodating. Will come again.

1889
My family and I recently had an incredible dining experience at 1889 Pizza Napoletana. The warm and inviting atmosphere greeted us as we entered, setting the stage for a memorable evening. The impeccable service, marked by friendly and knowledgeable staff, made us feel truly at home. Our server's recommendations added a personal touch to the evening. Now, let's talk about the food—the pizza was a true masterpiece. The thin and chewy crust, reminiscent of Naples, combined with fresh, high-quality ingredients, created a symphony of flavors in every bite. The diverse menu catered to various preferences, and the chef's dedication to quality was evident. The presentation of each dish and the open kitchen added excitement to the overall experience. In conclusion, 1889 Pizza Napoletana offers more than just a meal; it provides a culinary journey with authentic Italian charm. Whether you're a fan of classics or adventurous toppings, this restaurant is a must-visit for its exceptional food, top-notch service, and delightful atmosphere. Our family left with full hearts and satisfied palates, eagerly anticipating our next visit. Bravo to the entire team at 1889 Pizza Napoletana!

Went out with my family for a quiet dinner. You order to the right when you know what you would like. We had skimmed the menu before but it took a little to figure out what sounded good to try. When you are ready you have someone fill out a card and you take it to the register and order your food and drinks.
Once ordered they give you a number and you get your drinks and find an open seat. They brought us out the starters and salad first and then the pizza shortly after. When we came there was only Pistachio Gelato available but it was so creamy and hit the spot.

I stopped in for lunch just as they opened. Ended up staying about an hour and a half. As an Italian I can say that the pizza is amazing, The cheese is fresh and perfectly salty and the crust is hand tossed and baked quickly in a very hot pizza oven. The wine selection, a chianti was quite nice, but first and foremost, my server Erica was one of the most delightful people I've met in Kansas City. I will return for that reason alone. The vibe and atmosphere is quite eclectic but chic. The location (off the Plaza) is nice and not so hectic. I highly recommend this establishment!

First time to 1889. I was drawn in by the pretty chandeliers. Such a cute place. I had the butcher pizza and spring mix salad. Good flavor. Hand tossed crust perfectly crispy crunch every bite, basil,, tasty sausage and meatball toppings. Good pizza.
This restaurant had the potential to be 5 stars, but I am giving a 2 because of the poor service that my friend and I received.
Overall, the restaurant week menu was a great deal. My friend and I tried the pasta trio entree. I asked a worker if they were doing the plate refills of your favorite choice of pasta and he confirmed that they were. Since we were full, we asked if we could get our pasta refills to go.
The woman who went to refill our pastas took an insanely long time and we eventually went to the front to check on it. We were given a sad tub filled about a quarter of the way. We were extremely disappointed to be skimped out (my friend didn't even get a serving). If they didn't want to give us additional food, then why bother offering it on the restaurant week menu? It literally states, "(refill your plate with the pasta you enjoyed most!)".
Aside from that, my friend and I noticed that the woman who was serving had checked in with everyone around us EXCEPT for us. She went above and beyond with our surrounding tables, checking in with them, asking how the food was, if they needed anything, etc. and we received nothing. Nobody checked in on us. Anytime we needed something, we had to go out of our way to grab someone at the front of the restaurant.
Additionally, I noticed that a pair of customers that arrived after my friend and I, sat down next to us and ordered the restaurant week special as well. After setting down their salad, their server said, "I'll get you guys your silverware and plates!" My friend and I had to go grab it ourselves. I understand if grabbing your own plates and silverware is the norm here, but it was the fact that we were treated differently.
You pay for your food and tip before you sit down and eat and my friend and I honestly regretted tipping the standard amount after experiencing all of this. Just beware! You might want to hold off on tipping and bring some cash in case you receive no/poor service like we did.

We've lived over here for like 6 years and somehow never tried this place. Wandered in on a whim during an unexpected warm snap in the dead of winter.... and just fell in love with it! a yummy pizza and salad fed a hungry couple, and I didn't catch the name of the hostess with the mostest, but the lady working the register and waiting tables was killing it on a busy Friday night. Will be back.

Good service. Decent Neapolitan style pizza. I had the Butcher. The toppings were great (especially the Italian sausage), but the crust and especially the sauce were a little bland. I like a good San Marzano sauce, but this particular sauce just was sorta forgettable. Otherwise, a good atmosphere, good experience, and solid Neapolitan pizza.
