If you happen to be near Merdogaard Museum, you can visit this restaurant. Good fish, chicken and hamburgers will impress you at the first bite. Castelle has good wine among its drinks. The well-trained staff works hard, stays positive and makes this place wonderful. Guests say that the service is cool here. When inside, the atmosphere is charming. This place has got Google 4.1 according to the visitors' opinions.

I went here alone while I was on a work trip. The restaurant is cozy and in a nice location. The two waiters seemed to only speak English, but that’s okay, they were nice enough. I ordered the “Chicken Murphy” and the food took about 20 minutes to come. With the food I only had water because of the pricy drinks. Luckily the food was warm when I got it, however it was a bit bland, the portion was too big (for better or worse), but there could have been more chicken and parmesan. It’s not the most expensive place (229 kr for the pasta) but not sure if I would order pasta here again. None of the waiters checked in on me to hear how the food was until they saw I was done and it wasn’t that busy, but overall it was a good experience and the ambiance was nice. Lovely views of the town when seated outside. I had the seafood pasta which was decent and al dente. It was quite busy and the service was pretty slow albeit friendly. They could upgrade their sticky menus and drinks selection, but it seems to be one of the places to be in charming Arendal, on Norway’s southern coast. Really enjoyed the food. The atmosphere is great. Staff friendly. My party enjoyed the food also. However my steak was unevenly cooked causing it to be cooked wrong for half the steak. In all fairness it's easily done with streak so no biggie. Aside from that really nice place. The decor of the restaurant is very interesting, nice and friendly service. I was at a business dinner in this place and I can say that the food prepared was very tasty, I had the opportunity to taste typical Norwegian Christmas dishes. If everything in this place is so well made, I highly recommend it.

I had a skagen-toast that was very good. I think also that gin- cocktails were quite good made. All in all 5 stars are justified

Fantastic food and atmosphere with outdoor and indoor seating. Definitely recommend the chicken/shrimp salad as well as the fish and chips, both were fresh and perfectly seasoned. Price point is similar to most restaurants in Norway. Servers were friendly and helpful. Would come back for another visit!

Ordered the Castelle pizza. Fairly average food but it got the job done. Good location. Service was slow but nice.

Very very bad food, Ceasar salad And was tasteless, is it even possible to make a bad salad? long time waiting, ordered a espresso martini and was the worst I have ever drank, focaccia was not a focaccia at all, poor service. Not recommended at all !

The food is amazing, and so is the location. Just by the waterside, Castelle offers great tapas and cocktails, in a nice atmosphere. It can get a bit crowded during the weekends, and this causes the service to slow down a bit. But if you have time, it's a great place to share a meal!
