Cult Cakes are absolutely delicious! The customer service is phenomenal!! Even though she was super busy. She came through like Santa with 2 dozen of yummy pumpkin/ginger cupcakes for my party! I needed a birthday cake for my brother who had recently become a devotee of plant-based diets. Cult Cakes said they could provide a vegan chocolate cake and deliver it with only a few days notice. When it arrived they also gave us a half dozen non- vegan chocolate cup cakes to let us try a fuller range of their baking. Both deserts were super tasty. The cake portion of each was rich and moist while the icing was more than ample but surprisingly light. Perhaps they were concerned that their vegan offering would not be as impressive as their regular fare. If so, they need not have been. Both were wonderfully delicious. In fact, we had trouble convincing my brother that he was not eating a (very good) regular cake with milk, eggs and butter. A la the Impossible Burger, they could certainly consider renaming it the 'Impossible Chocloate Cake'. Whether vegan or not, I would highly recommend Ellen Murray and Cult Cakes.
Cult Cakes is amazing!!! Not only are her cakes delicious they are beautifully designed. She does not disappoint. She is also so friendly and professional. She came right in on the day of my wedding to put my cake together at the venue. She knew I was busy and just did her job. You can’t ask for better than that! I promise you won’t regret going with Cult Cakes! 😁
Absolutely the best bakery in town! Today's special yummy is a St. Patrick's Day Guinness cup cake. You will not be disappointed when you bite down into one of these yummies!
Best cupcakes in Greensboro!!! Also, most awesome baker—Ellen goes above and beyond! She made more cupcakes than what I asked for and gave me extra cupcakes of a different flavor which was so fun!! I needed cupcakes for a gender reveal and I had very specific instructions; Ellen really listened and was so focused on making sure it would be special! I ordered a few cupcakes with the color of the gender inside like a filling and not only were they adorable, they were the perfect combination of rich and moist!! SOOO GOOD!! I’m happy she left me with extras although they didn’t last very long!!
These are the most amazing cupcakes you will ever eat. The Callahan cupcake is the most amazing one on the menu and I am not a huge fan of chocolate. Ellen is fantastic and it is the best local dessert you can find. The Elvis cake/cupcake is amazing as well if you are a fan of peanut butter. You should always use Cult Cakes for your birthdays and parties as this will impress all your guests.
I cannot say enough positive things about Ellen's cakes! I have enjoyed several different ones......Hummingbird, Carrot Cake, Chocolate, ....to name a few........and they NEVER disappoint. These cakes are fresh, moist, affordable and full of flavor. I have ordered several cakes for events and friends. The feedback is always the same......"BEST CAKE I'VE EVER HAD". While looking for a local bakery to send my aunt and cousin a birthday cake all the way from England, I stumbled across Cult Cakes. Everything looked amazing, and despite not being available on the date I needed, Ellen was so amazing and made an exception, delivering a Coconut Cake, Key Lime Pie, and brownies. She even bought a card and wrote my message on it. She went above and beyond and showed so much kindness and attention to detail, I couldn't have asked for more.
After asking my family for their opinion, the verdict was that the brownies were everyone's favourites! Super moist and indulgent. The coconut cake was also delcious, moist on the inside with just the right amount of icing and coconut shavings. It is a bit on the sweet side, so you'll thoroughly enjoy this if you have a sweet tooth! As for the Key lime pie, they loved the consistency and noted that the crust was super flavourful, and would have loved if it were a little thicker so they could have more! The flavour of the lime is very clear and bright, so if you love tangy key lime pies, this is definitely the pie for you!
In addition to having amazing baked goods that are flavourful and high quality, the customer service and experience is unmatched and I can't thank Ellen enough for helping me make my family's birthdays in Greensboro special all the way from London! I can't wait to visit her in person and try her famous German Chocolate Cake and Elvis in Vegas Cake (peanut butter, banana, and dark chocolate, YUM!) If you're in Greensboro, definitely give Cult Cakes a try!
Ok! The first thing you need to know is that our vegan family just moved to the area from Portland, Oregon which is globally known as a foodie town...and it’s true! I ordered a cake from Ellen for my husband’s birthday. All 5 of us agree 100% that Ellen’s creation at Cult Cakes is literally the best vegan cake we have ever eaten. They are creative, accommodating, punctual, and exceeded all our expectations!! We ordered cookies and cupcakes for Halloween...just as good! Highly recommend...and will be calling them for all our celebrations in the future! Thank you, Ellen!! You rock!
LOVE LOVE LOVE the cakes and love Ellen. She's super easy to work with and makes the best tasting cakes my family has ever had. Around the office, we have named them, The Lauren (pumpkin ginger), The Elvis (banana peanut butter). Then, there's The Chocolate (the best I've ever had), The Hummingbird, The Coconut. All delicious!! And, her prices are super affordable. Love Cult Cakes! And, Ellen will make whatever flavor you're looking for; she's awesome!
