We did a day trip in Pigeon Forge and wanted to try something different. Being a Triple D fan, we had to try Guy's place out and do glad we did. It's located back off the main strip in a really cool plaza with great views. The place was pretty busy but we got seated right away for our table of 6. I'll start by saying GREAT JOB Boomer, you were a great server and really enjoyed our time with you. Very knowledgeable about the menu and fun to converse with. You really made our dinner special and appreciated all that you did for us. We ordered the Philly egg rolls which were perfectly cooked and paired great with the cheese dip. The queso and jalapeno cheese was really good but the chips that came with it tied the entire appetizer together. The burgers are all smash burgers so keep that in mind when ordering but they do theirs right. Perfectly smashed and cooked right! They weren't burnt like most places and were still juicy. My wife and I ordered the donut burger and wow, sweet and salty and really delicious. I loved their house pickles that came on it, they were great. My daughter got the Mac and cheese burger and it was a massive burger and delicious also! The garbage can pulled pork nachos were out of this world good! Don't listen to the negative reviews and give it a try! We had so much fun eating and playing games and will definitely be back. The name is fitting. These definitely belonged in the trash can. I ordered the Nashville hot chicken nachos, and was just disappointed. They came out cold, and were very sweet. The pickled onions gave some acid, but there was no heat at all. I ordered jalapeños to try and make them edible. The fries inside were cold, hard bits. We were in town for a Kids Wish Network,Wish for our daughter our first dinner stop was this place. They went above and beyond! The food was wonderful! I never leave reviews, so this alone says a lot all by itself coming from me, but I honestly cannot say enough good things about this place! It was a spur of the moment visit and they got us in and seated immediately even though they looked slammed! The waitress was super personable, down to earth, and went above and beyond for us! She even gave us some free play cards to start us out. My kid and I played in the arcade and had a blast, then when it came time to claim her prize with the tickets she had won, Tyler hit it out of the park with even more superb customer service by making sure my kiddo got exactly what she wanted and was super patient and kind. We will definitely be back and I’ll be telling everyone about Downtown Flavortown! Overall, it was a good experience, but from a Top Chef (or restaurant reviewer), I really expected a little more. FOOD: We both got burgers, and I ventured out to get the Mac-n-Cheese burger (w/ bacon). The food was good, but the fries were on the cold side of lukewarm, and although the meat of the burger was fantastic, some of the toppings were lukewarm at best, and after requesting burnt bacon (I love crispy bacon), the bacon was all but BARELY done for the most part. The weird part is that it was NOT at all crowded, so food temps were not necessarily because of the crowd. So, it wasn’t bad, but we just expected more. Also, there aren’t very many menu offerings, and they were odd dishes (not your typical chicken tenders and fries kind of place 🤣🤷🏻‍♂️). ATMOSPHERE: Neat offering of an arcade, 1/2 scale bowling alley (which felt like a cross between bocce ball and bowling), and tiki bar. Games were fun, but a bit limited compared to the over the top arcades scattered around the area. SUMMARY: Apparently, you can find discount passes (which we found out later) that include a meal, game cards, and bowling for a very good price, which probably would have changed our opinion of the experience. At full price, my opinion would be to eat somewhere else and visit a different arcade. BUT if you had coupons, you could eat, game, and bowl for a decent price. At the risk of sounding cheap, without passes, we most likely would not return, but given a discount, it would make the experience much more enjoyable. My $0.02! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to flavor town. Our food was delicious!! Our server Tiffany was amazing and very knowledgeable with the menu and had some really good recommendations on what to eat! The kids loved the arcade and the $5 were a great bonus! The gold wall is so cool!
