That's a good idea to order tasty Bbq pork ribs, smoked salmon and ribeye. Try good key lime pie, cobbler and brownies. Take your chance to taste delicious Sauvignon blanc, draft beer or dry martini. We eat at Hillstone at least once a week, sometimes more in two other cities and have for years, including a few times a year at this location. The management here, however, has consistently been some of the worst in the company. But, our experience this last visit was simply appalling. We got a table for four even though my wife and infant were with us because my wife wasn’t hungry and wanted to walk around the grounds outside instead. She needed to use the restroom so came in to hand me the baby. The baby was very happy and doing well so after, she sat down at our absurdly large booth with a lot of extra room to say hi. The second she sat down, the manager walked over and castigated her saying the very large booth can only accommodate 4. She explained that she was just visiting for a second and the manager said if you’re just visiting that was perfectly fine. Two minutes later, as my wife was getting up to leave and grabbed one french fry for the baby before going outside, she walked back over and said “I just told you this table cannot fit you,” in the most rude, stern voice. To be clear, everyone was very well behaved and no one around us was disturbed. In fact, the two tables next to us were shocked and commented on the manager’s rudeness. The only possible explanation for this that could plausibly make it okay would be fire code but there were plenty of empty tables so that could not have been the issue. After reading other reviews and looking back on the experience, including her negative comment about the baby, it’s clear this manager is simply discriminatory toward families and children. At this point, we do not plan to return to any location and will be sure to tell everyone about this horrible experience. I have taken my well behaved children to Michelin starred restaurants and have never been treated like this anywhere. Food: 5 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Hillstone Winter Park is my favorite restaurant ever. I love how idyllic the outdoor area looks , it’s always such a great experience when we make a trip over specifically to dine at this fabulous place. Food is always on point, servers are friendly, well-mannered and attentive. We usually can’t wait to have an occasion just so we bring our friends and family to Hillstone! Service, service, service. Wow, what a pleasure to see a restaurant that actually has it figured out. From the moment we walked in until we left, our table of 5 was wowed. The appetizers, cocktails, cheeseburgers, Ding's Chicken sandwich, Prime French Dip, pan seared Ahi Tuna salad. All were 5 stars. In a picturesque lake setting. Great job. We'll be back soon! I have been to Hillstone several times and the food never disappoints. However, one of the strangest things I have ever experienced as a frequent diner occurred during my most recent visit. After lunch my friend and I wanted an espresso martini. The server politely informed us that they do not serve espresso martinis. We see an espresso machine, so I suggest the ingredients and request that the bartender just shake them up. The server says no, the bartender is not allowed to make them. So I ask if he can bring two shots of espresso, a side of ice, and the vodka/kahlua up so we can combine the ingredients ourselves. He attempts to do this and the manager stops him, comes over to our table and explains that unfortunately they do not allow guests to have espresso martinis even if we purchase all the ingredients and mix them ourselves. When questioned, the reason she offers is “consistency.” We ended up paying our check and going across the street to Sixty Vines, which makes an excellent espresso martini as it turns out. The bartender there said this was a surprisingly frequent occurrence… people ordering espresso martinis from her after being refused them at Hillstone. It’s just WEIRD for them to turn down money and indicative of their hospitality philosophy, which gives off a haughty vibe- as if they don’t care whether they please a particular customer because another will be along anyway. Great spot, always booked up so it's advisable to book well in advance. We went a little early to try to get seated sooner than our and 9:00 p.m. reservation, and we were able to stand at the bar and order drinks and some appetizers.
