Could doubt at first sight, everything was above expectations. For our first visit,ribs, chicken brisket pork, seafood rice, mac n cheese and potato salad. Everything was delicious. i happy to have stumbled on this particular establishment; my confidence that good BBQ can be found. It was Delicious. Wished I was Hungrier haha but this my second BBQ in the area and by far this was the better. Tender, Juicy, I mean he meat was really coming off the bones, taste was really good. Their saw were also great. Only think okay didn’t like. Seems that they don’t give more than 1 or 2 differ types BBQ sauces. But overall I would come back and highlight recommend.

First time stopping in and will DEFINITELY be back. Apparently, they have new owners but the same pit master. Service was top notch and they showed us the plates as they were made! You give the approval and they box it up for you. My wife and I enjoyed the ribs, brisket, and pork. I thought I would be getting sliced brisket, but it was chopped. No big deal - still had an amazing flavor. The ribs fell right off the bone! You don’t even need bbq sauce for any of the meat. Don’t skip out on the collard greens or peach cobbler. I really enjoyed their brisket sandwich and the pulled pork wasn't bad either. The mac and cheese could've been better though. The potato salad did rock, my roommate attested. The prices were a bit too steep for what I got. $21+ for a sandwich with 2 sides and a piece of sweet potato pie - $5. I'd go back but but I'd order differently. I have been driving past this place for years, always taking note of the beautiful smoky smell and telling myself I need to stop by. We finally did, and good lord this place has some incredible BBQ. Get there early (just around 12) and they may have some specials like sausages. They sell out quick, and for good reason. The smoke is not overwhelming, just adds to the wonderful meat flavor. Super juicy. Sauces are pretty good too. Servings are huge and for really reasonable prices. A spread with half a rack of ribs, half a pound of brisket, a rib sandwich (around 4 ribs on white bread), and a chicken sandwich (quarter chicken light on white bread), with two sides, two sodas, two desserts, came out to about 60 bucks. We will be going back for sure. Parking is a little weird but its worth figuring out I promise. I highly recommend checking it out. You won't regret it.

I’ve been a regular customer for several years and I’m saddened to say that I agree with some of the other recent reviews here that the quality has taken a nose dive. I’m writing this with the sole hope that the new owners read this and make desperately needed changes: Please talk to whoever was managing the cooking previously, ask them to train you on how they ran the kitchen (especially the ribs and Mac and cheese recipes), and please please bring back all the food that we love so much!!!! I will unfortunately be taking my business elsewhere. I’ll only return if the food quality goes back to how it was before. Food: 1

Great BarbQ. Nothing fancy, small walkup barbque stand. We went on a Sunday, they open at noon and we were there around 12:30 and already we're out of Sausage, brisket and collard greens. We both got chicken and one rib dinner $13.50 comes with one side. I got potato salad which was very good, like I make at home and my husband got the Mac and cheese and it was dry and not that tasty. Rib and chicken portions are generous and meat is infused with flavor so delicious you don't even need BarbQ sauce but they give regular and a mustard based sauce which we're very good. Go with no expectations and you will be pleasantly surprised. We will definitely be back. Beyond brilliant. Worth the walk up Ft Harrison Ave for sublime BBQ from 2 brilliant women. Ribs, all snaffled, pulled pork just triumphant! Have food here, go across the road for Clearwater Brewing Company! Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–20

So this place has new owners which I had no idea until I was actually ordering. When it was Homestyle BBQ it was some of the best around, but now it’s not good. The portions are tiny. The mac and cheese is a joke. The potato salad is still good. The pulled pork barely has any flavor or even tastes like it’s smoked. The bbq sauces are different now also. It was more of a duck sauce consistency and tasted nothing like bbq sauce. The sandwich came with 2 pieces of sandwich bread. Staff was very nice and you can go inside to order now, but it’s completely different. I won’t be back unless it changes. Ownership change has impacted quality and portion size. Ribs were decent but cold, chicken did not appear bbqd and half chicken was more 1/4 chicken. Mac and cheese was not Mac and cheese; melted cheese over pasta tubes. House sauce was original and beans were OK. Too bad as this was our go to bbq place.
