First time coming to this place and first time trying Jamaican food. I ordered the jerk chicken plate with rice and peas and plantains. I am shocked at how great this food was!! Although the chicken had some tiny bones in it-i’d be careful, it was well seasoned. The sauce goes great with the rice and peas and the plantains were really good. I love to go to this place and eat! The young lady that serves us has such a beautiful smile and spirit. Not only is the food good I was actually allowed to purchase one of the candles on the table, OMG they made my house smell like heaven, if you go here, you should consider buying a candle. The father is the cook. He makes the candles and he’s a good cook. What more could you ask for than the oxtails the curry goat, and the cabbage is to live for ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ I always end up getting extra cabbage! This is one of my favorite dining spots! This is a wonderful family-owned restaurant and a great place to eat with a very relaxed vibe and excellent customer service!! Please make sure you tip the wonderful lady at the front counter that serves. Her spirit is amazing. you guys need to give this place a try the food is 10/10 the chicken was soooo tender , the meet literally fell off the bone so flavorful. Was me and my husband first time trying Jamaican food and 10000 recommended this place. I will say the waiting time is a bit long me and my husband’s waited 1 hr on a Friday for our food but the food makes it totally worth it 🙌🏼🤌🏼

I've never been to this place when there wasn't a line up for the food but today it was 30+ minutes so that speaks to the popularity of this restaurant. I ordered the oxtail/ curry goat combo with cabbage and rice and peas. There were good portions of both stews as well as gravy from each which I always enjoy. The seasonings seemed mild today as opposed to other times I've been there but I still enjoyed it with some hotsauce at home. Loved that the cabbage was not overcooked. Overall a great meal. Ordered online for pick up. I placed an order for 2 stew chicken (legs only) and 1 jerk chicken. It said it will be ready between 238 and 258. My son got to the place around 3 and still had to wait. The stew chicken was 80% bones from thighs hardly any meat. The flavor, the quality of everything else was spot on. Would have received 5 stars had I received legs only and at least 80% meat. I give the restaurant itself a 3 because I’ve been a few times and the lady always acts shady with me at the counter. She thought my hundred dollar bill was fake I kindly went next door to get change (she eyeballed it and said I can’t accept this the paper feels fake). Second time she doubled checked my receipt like I was trying steal someone’s order or something it’s ridiculous . The escovitch snapper was not good. It tasted old and fishy. I ordered pickup and the sauce was on the snapper which leaves the skin soft instead of crispy. The fish was also not whole. I had two heads in my box which is unusual for a snapper order. This seemed more like brown stew instead of snapper. The oxtail are historically great. I ordered oxtail. I asked was it any left because I know they were going to close In the next hour or so. The young lady told me that they had just put some more Out. When I got my order after thirty minutes The oxtails were very tough and I was not pleased and There was not any beans really in the rice. I won't be returning because that was too much to pay for for the oxtails to be tough and hard to chew like rubber. Please cook everything thorough even though you're preparing to close.
