Drinks, despite interesting flavor profiles proved expensive and failed to inspire in any way. I would not order any of the 4 signature cocktails that my table ordered again. The Fois Gras Poutine saved the night. It was tasty, ample, quite memorable AND worth the $$. The Ribeye ordered, medium rare, arrived medium at one end & raw at the other and smothered by an arugula salad. Why do chefs place one food atop another? The salad "muddied" the already challenged steak. However, the fries & fresh potato chips were scrumptious. Dessert was a much anticipated blueberry maple shake that was talked up to be a show-stopper. While it was tasty, it remained lack luster and certainly not worth $12. Others at my table were pleased with their meals, though not their cocktails. The dining experience was delightful despite meal mishaps. The decor and furnishings were visually stunning, textural & well appointed. Staff proved courteous & friendly. The employees of Kanu were so accommodating. We had been turned away at another establishment even after we had reservations to eat in one of their snow domes, we called Kanu and we asked to use their igloo outside, they told us that because of the weather (snow) that the igloos were not open. When my daughter in law told them I was visiting from Florida and had been looking forward to having a nice lunch in a place I could actually see the snow, they were gracious to accommodate us. Not only was the atmosphere amazing, so was the food and our waiter, Sam K. Good job, Kanu, for offering up excellent customer service! I had the roasted chicken breast with herbed Farro and black pepper peanut butter gravy. Also order the crab cakes as an appetizer. Serviced was top notch would definitely recommend!!!!
