Oh my goodness, let me tell you about this incredible restaurant called La Llorona! The service was absolutely top-notch, like seriously, I felt like a VIP the whole time. And the food? Oh my taste buds were doing a happy dance! It was out of this world! I can't even begin to describe the flavors and the presentation. It's definitely a place I'll be coming back to every time I'm in Philly. Trust me, you won't regret trying it out! 🌮🍹🌟 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I visited Friday 2/9 around 9:30pm. Party of 3. I ordered the birria tacos. They were amazing!!!!! We also ordered the queso fundedo with chorizo. Very savory. The drinks could have been stronger. If you are looking for amazing mexican food. This here is it. My picture of my plate isnt the best but trust me worth it! Me and my friends stumbled upon this place last night before going to a concert. Our server/bartender Alex gave us phenomenal service along with the other servers and food runners in the building. They all looked out for us, refilled our water multiple times and made sure we got refills on our margaritas and everything we needed food wise. The drinks were delicious, we got the mezcal marg, passion fruit marg and espresso martini, all were 10/10. For food, we got tlayuda which was my personal favorite, tinga de pollo tacos which my friend enjoyed, and I got pollo en su mole which was good as well, perfect level of spice just wish it was served with some salsa or avocado but I asked for some anyway so it was resolved! The rice and beans werent my favorite but definitely good enough. Overall I loved this place and the experience and service! We felt very welcomed like we were regulars though we had never been before. Thank you!! By far best Mexican in the city. Taco Tuesdays 45 dollars for 14 gourmet tacos and drinks. Best chicken quesadilla I’ve had. Thick like a bowl of oatmeal (but with high quality chicken and Oaxaca cheese, not oats, in case that wasn’t clear). Excellent bartender. Great service. 🎤drop. Happened to be there during happy hour. We only tried tacos and corns. The corns were bland, not much flavor other than mayonnaise. Tacos were ok for the price of $3 each. However, the happy hour drinks were strong and good. Service was attentive, and I liked that they have outdoor seating. I highly recommend their happy hour. Fantastic place. Everything we ordered tasted like authentic Mexican. Compared to the numerous other Mexican places I've been to. Had those extra flavors that convinces me this is close to what it might taste if I were in Mexico. Also, the whole restaurant looked very nice with an open kitchen and also outdoor seating. Only minor problem I had is that they added 20% gratuity by default and we were just 3 ppl. I haven't seen that in a lot of places unless it's a party of 6 or more. Also, on top of that they had suggested us to pay 18, 20 or 22% tip. I haven't seen that as well in the receipts before in case the gratuity was already added they would have much lower suggestions under the tip. Amazing Staff they are so hard working!! Food is Spectacular! The drinks are out of this world!! Love the hibiscus and mezcal margarita!! Definitely on for the best Mexican restaurants in Philly!! Great experience all around!! Can’t wait to come back!!!

I went in for a quick bite at happy hour, and I'm glad I did! I got a cold bottle of Victoria beer, elotes with a whole ear of corn split into two manageable skewers, and a shrimp taco. The food was delicious and came quickly, and the bartender kept me topped up with ice water without the need to ask for a refill. I didn't spend much time looking at the regular menu, but I can already tell I'll be back!
