We come here every time we come home for Christmas break. I love their gluten free pizza!! It was delicious like always! Our waitress was okay but seemed very distracted. She was kind. Everyone at our table loved their food. My mother-in-law got tacos, father-in-law got the meatloaf, my husband got a pizza (not gluten free). MacKenzie River is my FAVORITE sit down restaurant here in Sioux Falls! The service is great, the atmosphere and decor is rustic and inviting. The food is the best I've had. We were on our way thru Sioux Falls, SD this evening and looked up restaurants. We chose MacKenzie River Pizza and Grill because of the ratings. Well, they were RIGHT!! We just had a fabulous meal. Hubs got the Stockman Pizza. He says it was unbelievably good! (He prefers more sauce, if we come back he'll ask for extra). I got the Smokehouse burger... Wow!! So good. Giant. I should have eaten half. But I ate the whole thing. Also, he had the smoked old fashioned and said it was great and had the most unique presentation of a smoked old fashioned he's ever seen. Our waitress, Brandy, was helpful and cheery and perfect. Can't say enough good things. Maybe we will move in.... Blackened chicken sandwich is a well balanced flavorful spiced. The fries were hot and crispy the soda was free flowing and service was excellent. Atmosphere is great! Went in when it was not busy at all. Good lighting, plant life, wood tables. Service from our waitress was average and lackluster, food took about 35-45 minutes to hit the table after ordering and botched both of our orders for two. Had to wait again to get the order redone. Ordered a black bean burger, and salad which had to be corrected. Food was okay... On the bright side i Also ordered the pita dish which they did get right and was great. HOLY BUCKETS!!! What a difference from last night din out. ABSOLUTELY everything was wonderful. I am truly shocked at the flavor of the food. The Greek salad was amazing & the feta dressing they had on it was so good. The service was amazing even though she said she was new I would’ve never noticed it. I noticed everyone was very attentive to the tables. I loved how you could still visit even though music was going on. Would I recommend this place?? 💯% 👍 I would… Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Excellent food and service. Beautifully decorated with trees and plants everywhere. Looks like you are really eating by the river. We had the log poles and French onion soup as a starter and then a pizza and the street tacos. All were delicious. The tacos each had a shot of a special hot sauce you can add. Neither were too hot, and they added to the flavor perfectly. There was one of each... steak, shrimp and chicken. The small pizza is perfect for 1 or 2 people and was perfectly cooked. I’m giving them 5 stars based on the food being a 4 and the service being a 10… they seemed to be understaffed but apologized in advance and to be honest they seemed to be timely… we had a nice waitress and a guy helped fill in to keep everything going smooth. The cheese pizza was better than expected and the wedge salad was really good! I did order a sangria which they comped because they had forgotten about it and I wouldn’t order it again - not a Midwest drink! Overall great service and very friendly with really good food. I was with my 7 year old daughter and it was also more kid friendly than expected and the kids menu was fantastic!
