Oh. My. Goodness. I wish there was more than five stars!! This secret gem is so warm and inviting especially for those with anxiety! Huge plates of food! Price is beyond reasonable for the quality and quantity!

Went in at about 11:30 am, Tuesday February 23, 2024, we sat down and didn't have long to wait for someone to bring us menus and ask if we wanted coffee, we didn't. Water came swiftly and once we were finished deciding what we would order and sat menus back on the table our waitress was right there taking our orders. The place was actually pretty full of patrons, but a few empty tables. We sat at a table looking out onto Powell which meant the sun was beaming in the window, which since having triple bypass surgery three years ago I can no longer tolerate much sunshine but I toughed it out. I'd ordered a Chicken Fajita Omelet with hash browns and a biscuit. It was excellent. I couldn't finish it all so asked for a box and as I was loading the box I moved it somehow and dropped it all on the floor, after it bounced off my hip, of course. The waitress was right there and had to clean it up off the floor. I left her a ten dollar tip because she was so nice all the way through. but embarrassing as all get out. I definitely would recommend this joint.

I love this place. In the past, I got their chicken fried steak. I thought it was a manhole cover it was so big. You could eat half, and still have 1 or 2 meals out of it.
It is a clean, homey place, and it seems to emphasize its small town roots framed thru an early 50's breakfast joint. Some of the art on the walls shows the connection to the community.
It sends out soft drinks in Mason jars, which I love. The silverware all matched (for some reason it's an indicator for me of the quality of a restaurant.
I'm not a big coffee drinker, but the Mrs. is, and she said it was a good cup of Joe.
I had a porkchop with my meal yesterday. It was butterflied, and cooked perfectly for my taste.
This place is breakfast/lunch only.
It's Achilles Heel is how popular it seems to be. Service time and food quality are hurt if you go after 8-10 am, so beware.
If you go early, it's awesome. I gave it the rating I did for the time I went (6:30 am). YMMV depending on time. I would rate it lower if it had been later in the day or on a weekend.
Maybe it's a staffing issue, but it is a small place, so I cut them some slack.
All told, a quality meal at a competitive price. Service could be better, but I think economic factors hinder them. Just expect it to be a factor if you go late in the day.

You absolutely must come hungry when joining them for breakfast. They do not mess around. They're servings are enormous and they will definitely fill you up for the entire day! Service is great food is great everything about it is great!
