We booked a table in advance and decided to celebrate my birthday there together with my husband. Loved the setting, but it was quite crowded and noisy, if you like a more private environment, be aware. We really enjoyed the food, especially the Caprese salad. Had no wait for a table of two at 6:00 a Sunday. We were promptly brought bread and dipping oil. The bread was fantastic. We ordered the Caprese which is much bigger than the pictures made it look. Our main dish was the pappardelli pasta with creamy pesto and blackened chicken. It was phenomenal. With so many great Italian choices in this area, we were glad we landed here. We chose Mimmo’s for our date night in downtown San Diego, and that was a smart decision! Delicious food, very Italian decor, friendly staff, and reasonable prices…and right in the heart of Little Italy. They started us off with complimentary bread and olive oil; the lasagna was fantastic, and we split the salad, which came with toast (croutons). All very good. Highly recommend! You cannot go wrong at this restaurant. Friendly service and exceptional food. The home made bread and pasta were phenomenal. The menu is very comprehensive and features the very best in Italian cuisine. I had the seafood pasta and it was the best I have ever had. When in San Diego you should check Minno’s. On January 2nd, we found ourselves unexpectedly navigating the bustling Little Italy, attempting to secure a table without a lengthy wait. Thankfully, Mimmo's was our saving grace, and we were promptly seated by a host without even a minute of waiting. Although there was only one server handling all the tables, he demonstrated exceptional professionalism and attentiveness throughout our dining experience. Opting for outdoor seating initially, I couldn't help but feel a twinge of regret when I ventured inside. The interior transported me to an old Italian city, and I was enamored by the captivating design – a whole different world indeed. Our order comprised two coffees, stuffed mushrooms, and two sandwiches. While the sandwiches were passable, they leaned towards the dry side, prompting thoughts of a much-needed dressing. However, the stuffed mushrooms were a delightful exception, boasting a delicious flavor. Overall, the experience at Mimmo's was positive. The efficient service, charming interior, and the standout stuffed mushrooms made it a worthwhile visit, even if the sandwiches were not particularly memorable. Great atmosphere, an enjoyable vibe at a price! Definitely a compliment to the establishment for its wonderful staff and atmosphere. Their friendly manner definitely radiates positivity! I ordered the Flatbread, and while it wasn't bad, it tasted like a regular dish that you could have elsewhere for less money, so I didn't think it was worth the price. At the end, it seemed to me that you were paying for the vibe... 🤷🏻‍♂️ Overall it wasn't a bad experience, it just wasn't worth the price of admission. Will I return? Maybe... We absolutely loved the food & the ambience here! Our server was friendly & attentive and all our orders (party of 6) were correct. We went on a Saturday night & the area (Little Italy) was packed with people, & almost all restaurants had a long waiting list. We made reservations (thanks to an IG friend from SD for the tip) and that made our night go smoothly. Beautiful little restaurant right in the middle of the action of Little Italy! I ordered food to go. The phone service was kind and helpful. When I arrived I was greeted kindly. My food was ready as promised. It was great to see the Cesar salad was packed separately from the hot seafood linguini. All of the necessary extras- To-go utensils, napkin, lemon wedges, Parmesan, dressing, etc. all the details were accounted for. The food was out of this world! FRESH seafood cooked perfect! Muscles and clams were fantastic! What an amazing meal! I could tell the atmosphere was nice inside the restaurant but dined at my vacation rental. The wine selection! The handsome servers! The outdoor seating! The best linguine of my life! I will be dreaming about this meal for months. Utter perfection. The outdoor dining was perfect on a sunny San Diego al fresco weather. One of the best Italian pasta I had. Staff are really friendly and the grated cheese was nice touch for our food.
