After my wildly enthusiastic review in March I am sorry to report that the quality here took a dive. And on top of that, there's been a price-hike AND they've cut out veggies. Seriously? In this day and age you get a badly fried, cold sole with fries and that's it? Not even a decorative salad leaf? No little bowl with a few interesting veggies? We won't be back! *March 2022: literally risen from the ashes Abel is a pretty phoenix indeed. The new restaurant has lost its would-be traits and settled into comfortable modern clean lines and wonderful personnel. Truly more-than pleasant service and a menu to be proud of with enough trend empathy to make vegans and vegetarians really happy with a couple of dishes to choose from and not just pasta with tomato sauce! For my partner there are some trusty traditions but never boring, always top quality and we can't find a fault at all. And the tastes are just great. I wouldn't swop this place for a Michelin starred chef. August 2017 :is Great service! Every server is on the ball and obviously there is great discipline. Kind too with all efforts to meet my dietary requirements. Well done indeed. Price wise I must admit: €80+ for starters and mains? And then you have to order a salad on the side? Seriously? Mmmm. Food well cooked and tasty. I wish we could wave the tooth-grating stoneware goodbye though☺️ 5th November 2017 : postscript to the review: the next day proved a mistake had been made with my dietary demands and the ensuing tummy pain made me phone the restaurant the next day to find out what had gone wrong. Amazing response from chef Michel with abject apology and then Abel himself apologized; today we used the coupon for free dinner for 2 we were given. EVERY effort made to give us a lovely evening, wonderful food and a great team of serving personnel. We are fans for life.
