This was our first visit and every single dish was delicious. We tried multiple cocktails that were also great. We loved the selection available and will definitely be back. Highly recommend the fried chicken, beef stroganoff and fish and chips. This is the brewery tavern by John Howie and unlike some of his other establishments it achieves what it intends to be. There is a great selection of beers and spirits with depth and breath. The ambiance is of modern brewpub with noise and welcoming warm tones wood everywhere. The food is well executed upscale pub food. With a good happy hour selection. The bar area is large and is a no reservations area at the entrance of the place. With the main dining area hosting many families. Really great food ( high-quality ingredients, tasty recipes). Service was above what I expected. If I have any gripe, it's with the inclusion of a 20% entitlement tip on the bill (which is becoming more common). Beardslee does a fantastic job, however, with notifying patrons of this policy as you arrive and sit down, and as you get your check. I also feel the need to point out my server was so fantastic - I wanted to tip more than 20%, but didn't due to the tip being forced on to my bill - which then gets taxed! Why should I have to pay taxes on a tip I'm giving someone? Whoever receives the tip should have to pay taxes on the tip revenue. We've eaten here a few times now. I meant to leave a review the first time but after our second time, I felt I must! The food here is amazing! Try the Brussel sprouts or the buffalo cauliflower and you WON'T be disappointed. I've never had cauliflower so yummy before. And the drinks were great too. Shout-out to Alexander, our server. I can't speak highly enough about this place, the drinks were amazing, the food was on point and the service was top notch. We started the sample platter and it was a good indicator of what was to come with our burger. They are upfront about why they have a 20% service charge on the bill and what it is for, it really shows that they treat their employees well by the service we received. Beardsley is a great place to go with a group because it is large and spacious. as with all large restaurants, it is quite loud. The food is excellent and the service wonderful. We hung out in the bar until our party arrived and it was very pleasant and we were informed when our party arrived. I had the steak salad. The steak on the salad was very good although the balsamic salad dressing could be more tangy. The fried chicken, mashed potatoes and green bean meal is wonderfulyl crispy and hearty. I love the deviled eggs in the appetizer list! They also have great drinks from the bar. Something to be aware of is that there is an automatic twenty percent service charge which goes to all the staff . There's still a tip line. It is also pretty expensive. I spent over two hundred dollars for 2 appetizers, 3 entrees, and about 6 drinks.
