Ordered one small brisket plate and one large brisket plate, about $8 difference in price, but the only difference is you get an extra side! No joke. The large plate brisket portion was less than the small, very disappointing. On top of that the small plate (mine) was mostly dry Burnt ends, barely edible. Really good Texas barbecue right here in the land of Lexington style. The brisket was delicious - both the lean and wet were just right. THE MAC&CHEESE people!! My dad even said, and I quote, “I’d put it right up there with mine”. BOOM! First time in my life I’ve heard him say that, and it is absolutely bangin! The pulled pork was flavorful and juicy, the Texas sausage was delicious with just the right peppery kick to it. The sleeper of the night was actually the sweet potato casserole. It’s one of my mother and I’s favorite dishes, and this one did not disappoint. It wasn’t overly sweet, had nice flavors with a hint of cinnamon that didn’t overwhelm the sweet potato. We both agreed it’s the best we’ve ever had “out”. Keep the smoker hot y’all, we’uns ‘ll be back! Take out order coming through Mooresville for work. Very nice staff, first time customer and they explained all their options well. Ordered a 1lb of brisket, a large meal 1/2 pound brisket with mac and cheese, sweet potato fries, hushpuppies. And banana pudding. Brisket was on par with what a good small bbq restaurant in say Tennessee or Texas would offer. Portion size was adequate, sides tasted good. Banana pudding was very sweet! The sweet potato fries were waffle sweet potato fries and tasted good but we both think they are possibly not fresh made but McCain brand (family in the food business, you notice little things) Not a negative at all. The hushpuppies while small had a nice sw kick to them. Maybe jalapeno? Nice store front, wouldn't hesitate to dine in given the chance. Very clean, well lit and easy to find. Overall one of the better bbq offerings Nc has, certainly better than most of the "lexington style" offerings in Lexington. 100% will be back! Was told at the counter that it was Texas style barbecue so obviously I ordered the brisket. Large, fatty. It was neither. The brisket was dry and had hardly any detectable smoke flavor. The portion was small for a large portion, but not unreasonable for the price which included two sides. Got the red slaw, which was decent but a little too sweet and the fried okra, which was actually pretty good. The hush puppies which have green chilies in them, but are about the size of a marble and you only get 6. I think it would take about 24 of them to equal three actual decent sized hush puppies. I can mess up brisket in my smoker and it would still be better than this. Others have had a better experience. Maybe it was just an off batch. I may give it another try but not likely if Bae’s Burgers is open. Which they weren’t yesterday. Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3
