I'm a truck driver and constantly stop at this Denny's since it is inside the Pilot truck stop. Waited a few months to do a review simce I have seen they are understaffed (sorry but seems they been this way for several months and enough is enough) There is AAAAAALWAYS some type of drama with these ladies. There is an older lady who has terrible attitude and over heard a young manager point blank tell her she was being rude and of course the older lady had all kinds of sassyness (again, some type of internal ongoing drama). My waitres was extremely nice, courteous and attentive. No issue there, she along is the reason I am giving an extra star. Ordered Bourbon Chicken Skillet with no BBQ sauce and asked for veggies with a bit extra butter. Chicken breasts could tell was frozen then cooked for it was horribly dry. Skillet was barely warm rather than sizzling hot (was able to grab handle with my hand) bottom Veggies were over cooked, some pieces of squash burnt,, almost turned into dried skins and had almost no trace of butter (remember I asked for Extra butter). The steak and ham were properly warn and cooked. Overall, place was empty and on a Saturday night, (says a lot about a dining place) but atleast looked clean. This place desperately needs retraining, restaffing maybe restructuring management because I am truly tired of hearing and seeing constant drama from these ladies.

Our waitress we had was great. And she even talk to my 2 yr. Grandson to see what he wanted to eat. Brought him gold fish to keep him satisfied until his dinner arrived. She came back several times to check on us and refilled our drinks.

Service sucks the hostess came after I stood there 10 minutes ask if I was dining in or to go...told her dining in she grabbed menu and utensils turned and start walking I followed her to a booth she threw menu and utensils on table walked away never asking if I wanted a drink or anything went back to door to a family of 7 took them to a booth started smiling and talking taking their drink order never once looking at me sitting at the table amazed at this experience at Denny's..I'm a truck driver and eat at Denny's in a regular but this is the worst experience I've ever had..mind you I'm in Virginia was this a cultural thing or what because I'm of a different ethnic background..I walked out and snapped her picture while she stood at the table with the other guest smiling and talking..but she never once gave me a half smile ..but she look at me With an upside down smile☹️ Denny's at Flying j

Would be a good place for a Denny's. Waitress says "be right back, I need to talk to the manager." 20 minutes later (after manager sends someone to look for her) she comes out. NO ONE including the manager could even bother doing a coffee refill or even bothering to take our order. Nope won't be back but WILL be contacting corporate.

The manager at this place was horrible. Her name is Melissa. Came up to our truck with attitude telling us to move when we were backing up from a spot that was blocked because of several other trucks. If you would have simply came up asking why we were in the way a explanation would have been given. Do better. We are all trying to do our jobs.
