This place was very unique. Beautiful on the inside and out. The food was amazing. I tried the shrimp tacos and instantly fell in love. The service was different. Meaning, I’d go in with a fresh expectation and experience for yourself. I’m definitely going back again! And they have live music!

My recent visit to El Paisa Grill in Ogden, Utah, was a delightful immersion into authentic Mexican cuisine, though not without its challenges. The star of the show is undoubtedly their signature dish, the Molcajete Supreme, a culinary masterpiece cooked in volcanic rock. Featuring a tantalizing mix of shrimp, chicken, steak, Mexican cheese, and an exquisite tomatillo sauce, all grilled with onions, this dish alone makes the visit worthwhile. It's easily the best Mexican food I've ever had, bursting with flavors and cooked to perfection.
The staff at El Paisa Grill was friendly, adding to the welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant. However, the popularity of the place meant a crowded dining area upon our arrival. The wait time was significant – 30 minutes just to be seated and about an hour for the food to arrive. Despite this, the overall experience was enjoyable enough to merit a five-star rating.
An added bonus was visiting on karaoke night, which brought a lively and fun element to the evening. The live music and the chance to participate in singing added to the vibrant ambiance of the restaurant. The place is also kid-friendly, making it a great option for family outings.
Another highlight is their all-you-can-eat taco buffet available Mondays through Fridays from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., offering a variety of choices for taco enthusiasts. The chips and salsa were also notably tasty.
The owner, Jose, brings a personal touch to the restaurant. His passion for his heritage and the story behind the Molcajete Supreme, originating from Jalisco, Mexico, adds depth and authenticity to the dining experience.
In conclusion, El Paisa Grill has quickly become one of our favorite local restaurants, and we plan on being regular visitors. Despite the wait times, the quality of the food, the fun atmosphere, and the genuine passion of the owner make it a must-visit spot for anyone craving authentic Mexican cuisine in Ogden.
