Wowiee am I loco for this pollo! The staff is so friendly. Luis’ tips while ordering were as cool as his custom branded jacket. The only thing better than Dolores’ shrimp salad knowledge was her friendly smile. I know this isn’t Olive Garden, but when I was there, I sure felt like family. I don’t normally write reviews but whoever made my meal at around 3pm today deserves a soft kiss planted on their foreheads and a raise. I’ve ordered from here before and usually the food is good but not great. Today I hit the lottery- the guac was limey and fresh, the chicken was juicy and lean, and the rice was perfectly cooked. I always order the double chicken bowl and it was beautiful- I wish I would’ve snapped a picture. They actually added double chicken and took of the pico for me as I’m not a big fan (sometimes they forget this step). The best part was I believe they made the food when the dasher arrived at the store so when I received it, it was still nice and hot even though I live pretty far from this location. Anyways, to whoever prepped the ingredient, made the food, and packaged the food, I am placing a small smooch on your forehead and wish you nothing but the best. Man, I gotta say I was really disappointed with El Pollo Loco. I've eaten there three different times now tryin' to give them a fair shot, but they just don't deliver on good flavors. I got the chicken meal last time, and even doused in sauces, the chicken was still bland as can be. The rice and beans were just okay, nothin' special. I added some extra salsa to try and liven things up but it didn't really help. Previous times, I tried their Birria Crunchy Taco (A La Carte) but same deal - everything tasted flat with no excitement. The only decent part is the fresh chicken if you get a good batch. But the sauces and sides there are total snoozefest in the flavor department. I really wanted to love this place for a good Mexican chicken joint, but after three lackluster experiences I don't see myself going back. Maybe I just caught them on off days, but I gotta spend my money where the food pops with seasoning, ya know? For me El Pollo Loco needs way more flavor punch to satisfy. So that's my take! I gave them some chances but their food consistently underwhelmed my taste buds. For real Mexican flavor that packs a punch, I'll be takin' my appetite elsewhere next time. I went in pollo loco and ordered a 3piece meal that said it was 12.95. So when it got time to pay they wanted 18$ some how. If I was going to pay 18$ for a meal I would have went to olive garden next door. Pollo Loco only gives tiny portions of each thing, even the chicken is tiny. I've been going there all year paying 12.95 for that same meal, but it went up to 18bucks. I'm very disappointed. I turned around and asked for my money back and told them nevermind. I went next door to olive garden and got a huge meal for that same price with soup and salad and bread sticks all included. So thanks to Pollo locos up rising in prices I will never go there again. There food isn't really that good anyways. Not for that price, they must be crazy! Easily one of my favorite spots to get chicken. Sometimes when ordering items with chicken it’s too dry but ordering the grilled chicken pieces are consistently delicious. Their avocado salsa is delicious and I love this place. Also their mashed potatoes ARE SO GOOD. We come from California for a Business trip, I am very familiar with Pollo Loco brand. I was surprised with this location. We visited this location Monday 23, 2023 it was around lunch time. when we arrived the staff greeted with a friendly smile, they suggested their New grillers, fresh chips and Guacamole. My order was perfectly fresh and delicious we ordered the grilled chicken combo, chips and guacamole. We were astonished to see a clean lobby and the Restrooms where nicely stocked and clean. Lety was very friendly she came to our table to make sure our order was perfect and offered us condiments. We will be stopping to this Pollo Loco occasionally for our future business trips just for the exceptional service we received yesterday. See update below. We ordered a 3 piece meal and a cheese quesadilla with chicken and a side of sour cream and a side of quacamole. My husband loved his chicken. My quesadilla was so very dry. The chicken was dry and hardly any cheese. I didn't get my sour cream. They gave me salad dressing instead. I was really disappointed. But I can say the bathroom was spotless and employees were very nice. UPDATED 9/10/22. We stopped in again for lunch. My husband had the 2 piece meal and I had the Shredded Chicken Quesadilla. Both were delicious. Staff was wonderful. They offer a military discount, which is great. I raised them from 2 stars to 5 stars. Thanks for a great meal. My sauce was all over. The bag was crushed and my sauces got all over everything. The Mac’n’cheese is a bit soupy but flavor is there. The chicken’s flavor is good, mashed potatoes are also good.
