Tromso Public library and City Archives can be on your route by default, the guests' piece of advice is to come to this bar. It's a pleasant experience to try perfectly cooked sandwiches, broth and pork. Delicious wine is served at Helmersen Delikatesser. You will be offered great cappuccino, espresso or hot chocolate. It's easy to find this place due to its great location. Most visitors mention that the staff is hospitable. This spot is remarkable for its good service. Prices are found affordable here. OMG worst restaurant I’ve been to in a while!!! All started on bad footing when they couldn’t find my reservation and then just plopped me down on some random table. The menu itself is mostly in Norwegian (which I am fine with). I tried to get clarification from the waiter about what each dish/drink was and he got annoyed and said, what you want me to translate everything?!? Well kinda bc I don’t know what it is I’m ordering! Given that I’m allergic to alcoholic, 3/4 main dishes were out bc of sulfites. I ended up getting some creamy carpaccio look alike dish, a cheese plate, and oysters. The oysters tasted fresh but nothing out of this world. The cheese plate I couldn’t eat 2/3 of the selections - they were just bad. And the carpaccio was bland and creamy and nasty. I prob stayed 30 mins and left. Didn’t get a drink bc waiter wouldn’t explain anything to me. Just stuck with water. The insult is that everything cost over Kr 500. So nearly $100 for one of the worst meals I’ve had in recent recollection. The thing is the food is one thing, but the service was just bad. Waiters that didn’t care, weren’t friendly at all. Terrible experience, would never go again. Highly do not recommend. I literally had to go to BK afterwards bc I was still hungry Price per person kr 500–600 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3

Freudig wollten wir hier eine Kleinigkeit essen und freuten uns auf die Fleisch-Käse-Platte. Die Bedienung war sehr unflexibel, da wir nach etwas mehr Käse als Fleisch auf der Platte fragten und was für Sorten Käse auf der Platte sind. Die Bedienung konnte dazu keine Auskunft geben, das sei Sache des Kochs. So bestellten wir dir die Trüffel Chips...was wir da erhielten war dürftig. Immerhin der Prosecco war gut, der Wein ok. Aus unserer Sicht zu teuer für das, was wir erhalten haben. Zu unfreundlich für das, was wir uns aus anderen Restaurants in Tromsø gewohnt sind. Der Service ist leider auch sehr unaufmerksam. Schade. Von der Bedienung wurden wir einfach ignoriert. Wir saßen eine Viertel Stunde am Tisch, die Bedienung lief mehrmals an uns vorbei, ohne uns zu beachten. Andere Gäste um uns herum haben schon ihre Bestellungen aufgegeben und ihre Getränke bekommen. Wir haben darauf hin das Lokal natürlich wieder verlassen. Service: 1 Atmosphere: 5

Really great food and a nice selection of wines by the glass! We ended up here twice, also because its possible to get a table without reservation, which seemed impossible at the other "better" venues in the city. Price per person kr 500–600 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
