Every town deserves a delicious soup shop. Great place for a cup of yellow curry soup. I highly recommend both the hot noodle bowl and the cold noodle salad. They are both HUGE portions and so customizable you can get something different every time you come in. The basil vinaigrette is my absolute favorite on a cold noodle salad, but my partner loves the wasabi vinaigrette. A great place for a fresh and delicious lunch or dinner. I always feel good after I eat here, the food makes me feel energized rather than tired and sluggish. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

This was my first time trying Japhy’s in Arcata. I’m not a huge fan eating just soup for lunch but I thought I could go for a soup and salad type of meal. I got clam chowder which I thought was pretty mediocre. It felt like the soup was crowded with potato’s and chives. I would stick to getting clam chowder at a seafood restaurant. The salad cost $5.50 and it was just lettuce, a few carrots, and a lot of ranch. A side salad for that price should have at least a couple of other vegetables in it. I wasn’t impressed by this place but people seem to enjoy it. It was not my cup of tea… or should I say it was not my cup of soup.
