We loved the fish and food there. Flavorful and filling. The first server was at the end of the shift so seemed aloof but the second server took care of us. FANTASTIC PLACE!! Grace was the best waitress I've had in years across the board. For out of town tourists she was very very kind and understanding and accommodating. The food was top notch and hot when served. I'd make the drive for the food and service again!! This review is Only because of my Second time here & glad I made it. Had it not been for Corey, I would not!! Be making this review. 1st time there a year ago service was heartbreaking. I only visit Waynesville a few months due to work & unfortunately I have experienced unfavorable looks & treatments from most of the locals, I guess they're still set in their ways. Thanks to Corey, a few 🤏🏽 others in town & the beautiful mountains & scenery I do enjoy it. Now back to the restaurant. Clean environment & the food is so GOOD!!!!! I do recommend 100%!!! We were staying in town over night on our way to the beach. Very nice staff and food was AMAZING. We will be back on our way home. We got the alligator blackened, seafood gumbo, and grit cakes. Great and unexpected. Delicious and fresh. Hubs had the lobster roll. I had the crab cake sandwich. We both shared gator bites. Each was better than the last. We took a group here for dinner and had an excellent time! The food was fantastic and plentiful. The server was great and personable and put up with us! She had a great sense of humor too. Delicious bowl of Seafood Gumbo(and there is NO skimping on ingredients), the delicious hot coffee😋 (which not everyone has), to the Iced Tea, the salad with vinaigrette dressing, the 😋 Seafood Casserole which I could take my time about eating because it stayed hot😋 and the pineapple coconut cake with whipped cream to finish. Excellent. Nestled in Waynesville NC, Gateway to the Smokies, lies this excellent Restaurant featuring delicious Seafood and steaks, excellent service(Amy gets 5 stars), and a relaxed atmosphere, including the music😊 Made for an enjoyable dining experience. Nice restaurant, almost reminded me of a saloon. Very spacious with adequate seating, no one was seated too close to my table. The service was swift, didn’t wait long for food or drinks. The drinks were very nice, well put together. The food was alright. I had the fried Gator as a starter, they were delicious especially with the honey mustard on the side. For my main, I chose the steak sandwich which was a big mistake. The presentation was poor and the steak was tough and lacked flavor.
