This is our go to restaurant in Millbrae. Servers are always so funny and friendly. So many great food options from small dishes, to main dishes, to buns that you can get togo. We always order sweet and sour pork 锅包肉, Chinese burger 肉夹馍, 地三鲜. We get a box of buns to go when they are available. Highly recommend this place if you are in the area.

Authentic Chinese food at a fair price with generous servings, but definitely no frills when it comes to decor and ambience. Very limited vegetarian options.

The best northeast Chinese food restaurant in Bay Area. Although it’s very far from my home, we caught any chance to enjoy the foods here.
GuoBaorou is very authentic, steamed beef tendon w garlic sauce reminds me of my grandpa’s recipes, LiuRouduan and Dalapi is also amazed.

中国式东北小菜
New China Foods Milbrae offers an enticing experience for lovers of authentic Northern Chinese cuisine. However, some popular dishes may be out of stock if coming after noon on weekends and a long queue. The queueing system needs improvement (e.g., for no-show party in front, five minutes is too long), they also definitely need more service people. The queueing order was also not respected. For people who queued first, the waiting for dishes time may be much longer than a party in front.

Despite this, the standout dishes, sweet and sour pork and rice, showcase the restaurant's commitment to delivering traditional flavors. The sweet and sour pork is a culinary delight, featuring perfectly crispy and succulent pieces of pork, complemented by a well-balanced sweet and tangy sauce. The dish embodies the essence of Northern Chinese cuisine, capturing both texture and flavor in every bite. Accompanying the main course is the rice, expertly prepared to provide a satisfying base for the flavorful dishes. The rice complements the sweet and sour pork, creating a harmonious combination that elevates the overall dining experience. However, it's important to note that popularity comes at a cost. The restaurant tends to draw a considerable crowd, especially after 12:30pm on weekends. If you plan to visit during peak hours, be prepared for a potential wait. Despite the long queue, the quality of the dishes justifies the wait time, making it a worthwhile experience for those seeking authentic Northern Chinese flavors.
