It is the best place near Sfanthor! House of Wax. Search through the Mediterranean menu. Come here for nicely cooked hummus, lamb kabobs and falafels if you are hungry. Tasting good chocolate cakes and tasty frozen yogurt is what many guests advise. You will hardly forget delicious wine that you can try. The homely atmosphere of this bar allows visitors to relax after a hard working day. The terrific decor is worth checking out. Based on the guests' feedback on Google, Aba deserved 4.4.

We got the Brussels sprouts, Japanese sweet potato hummus, the chicken thigh dish, lamb and beef kabob, and a lemon meringue Greek yogurt dessert. Gus was an amazing waiter !!! Explained the menu thoroughly and was so sweet and tentative to my friend and I. He definitely heightened the experience! Only problem is, you’ll feel too full to finish all the amazing food. Our friends surprised us with a celebratory brunch at Aba Austin. This restaurant has truly beautiful decor, very similar to Aba Chicago although slightly more laid back and less grandiose (it is Austin after all). Both indoor and outdoor seating have equally pleasing ambience with soft lighting, lots of greenery and cozy seating. Food - While the menu is not vast, it has some good/interesting choices, although it the mains/entrees can be limiting for vegetarians. The muhammara and mushroom hummus, along with their fresh baked bread were delicious. The khachapuri (cheese bread boat with egg) was an uncommon offering and did not disappoint. Beverages: They didn’t have any hot beverages listed on the menu but did make several of us lattes/cappuccinos. Brunch Bramble was a delicious cocktail. The service was polite and they did store the celebratory cake our friends brought and sliced it for us all afterwards (at $2 pp). There were no hidden service charges or large group charges, which was a refreshing change. While prices per item are quite steep, the average cost pp for a large-ish groups comes out to be the same as at any other brunch place, but with far better ambience. TLDR: 5 stars for the decor, ambience, and restaurant layout, which is large part of what you pay for but the food/cocktails are good too. As a first-time visitor to Aba, an upscale Mediterranean restaurant nestled in the heart of Austin, TX, I was immediately taken by its stunning layout. The venue beautifully marries indoor and outdoor dining, creating a serene oasis amidst lush greenery. The outdoor area, spacious and equipped with heaters, ensures comfort in any weather, while the indoor space exudes a cozy yet elegant charm. A culinary highlight was the whipped feta appetizer. This dish was a revelation in flavor and texture - the feta was exquisitely creamy, laced with the right amount of saltiness, and topped with red pepper flakes and olive oil. The addition of pistachios added a delightful crunch, elevating the dish to new heights. The accompanying pita bread, warm and subtly seasoned, was replenished regularly to ensure it remained hot, a thoughtful touch that did not go unnoticed. For the main course, the chicken kabobs and beef and lamb kofta were standout choices. Each was seasoned to perfection, showcasing the freshness and quality of the ingredients. The sides of fluffy rice and vibrant, fresh vegetables complemented the proteins beautifully, culminating in a feast that left no room for dessert, much to my regret. While the prices at Aba are on the higher side, the experience justifies the expense. From the enchanting ambiance to the exceptional cuisine, Aba is more than just a meal; it’s a delightful culinary journey worth every penny. This restaurant has undoubtedly set a high bar for Mediterranean dining in Austin, and I am already looking forward to my next visit.
