Both Ashland Library and Peerless Restaurant & Bar are recommended for visiting. The Spanish and Vegetarian cuisines attract customers searching for positive impressions. It's worth coming to this bar for tasty spanakopita, French onion soup and pea risotto. Eating good cheesecakes, chocolate pie and fruitcake is a pleasant experience here. Delicious house wine, vermouth or champagne are what may make you return to Peerless Restaurant & Bar. In accordance with the visitors' opinions, waiters offer good tea. There is a comfortable atmosphere and beautiful decor at this place. Google gives it 4.6 so you can choose this spot to spend a good time here.

This place has been our go-to for date night for some time. However the last few times we’ve been there the food was not good. Our last visit we ordered Brussel sprouts which were terribly undercooked and had a flavor of dish water with a small amount of sauce spooned right in the middle not coated or anything. The duck breast was flavorless and so chewy and tough I would not eat it. The crab salad was amazing and the mocktails but sad to say we probably will be going elsewhere for awhile and hope the quality improves. Food: 2 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
The atmosphere is calm and quiet. The service was OK. As far as the menu… I expected more for the price of their food. I paid $69 for a steak that was cooked way too rare… very bloody…. served with fries…? Super chewy!!! Fries as a side to 69$ steak??? No veggies… The salmon was also very dry. Not worth it, I have had way better steaks at Brickroom or Harvey’s in Ashland. Don’t waste your money. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $50–100 Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 4
Overall, it was a fine experience, just not what you'd expect from a high caliber establishment. Our service was on the slower side; absolutely fine. Maybe that is their style. Maybe they were understaffed. No big deal, we were not in any rush at all. It was double date night, and we had good company and good conversation. We started our meal with oysters and some other appetizers. Everything was delicious, and we were off to a great start. Dinner, however, was a big miss, in my opinion. The table ordered the duck noodles which lacked duck; the market fish special which was too salty (I don't usually shy on the seasoning); and the duck breast which was not rendered properly and chewy. The ribeye and fries were perfection, the saving grace from the entree course. Somehow, every morsel of the huge serving was happily consumed. Must order ribeye! Again, not a total loss, but I expected more from a restaurant with this kind of reputation and price tag. We had a WONDERFUL dinner here for our last night in Ashland. The service was great, and the food was very tasty! They have great local and seasonal influences to the food, wine, and cocktails. Don't skip the bread; it was freshly baked and delicious!!! Do yourself a favor and make reservations. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $30–50
We came here after checking into the peerless hotel. We shared 2 appetizers and 1 main dish. We also shared a dessert. The food was excellent, the service was friendly and attentive. Everything was what you'd expect of a fine dining restaurant.

It was a rainy and cold night when we stayed at Ashland. We were so impressed of how many nice restaurants there were in Ashland. The owner of the small Inn we stayed at was impressed we were having dinner at Peerless. We appreciate the spaciousness between tables at Peerless. Our server was friendly and recommended a nice Chardonnay from the Applegate Valley. One new thing we learned about Oregon wines. My husband and I shared oysters from Vancouver to start our meal. My French onions soup was tasty but the star was the toast inside the soup. My husband had shrimps with peas that was delicious and flavorful. Instead of mains, I had Manila clams and my husband had steak tartare. My dish was quite large and yummy. The steak tartare wasn’t as good as the clams though the house made crackers were delicious. The in house made sourdough were amazing. We didn’t have dessert as we were very full. Peerless is an elegant restaurant features best of Pacific Northwest has to offer. A must in Ashland.
My husband and I were passing through town between Portland and Bay Area, so glad we saw reviews for this place on google maps. The host welcomed us in w/o reservations on a Saturday at 6pm (he kindly let us know he needed the table back at 8pm). We got a seat indoors by the door that led to the garden. Andrea never let our water cups run empty. The seasonal summer menu was delicious — we ordered chilled melon Thai curry soup, king salmon tartare, lamb chops, buttered carrots+zucchini, and the cured pork appetizer (I forget the name). We were just short of licking the plate on every dish! My husband also enjoyed a queens gimlet, very well made and refreshing.

It comes across as humble, but don't be fooled. The Peerless delivers an amazing experience. Many places determine their specials by what leftover food they have in surplus. The Peerless specials on the other hand were clearly a chance to allow the chefs to experiment. The dishes were an exciting blend of daring and comfort; the setting was quaint and refined. In a town that seems to have replaced nearly all its formal dining with casual sports bars and idempotent menus, the Peerless was a standout experience.
Another excellent dinner at Peerless! My husband and I don't eat as much as we used to so we are grateful for the smaller fare offered at Peerless. We started with the soup du jour, which was cold cucumber. This was my least favorite dish of the night. And a bowl of it was way too much for my palate. My husband opted for the Flat Iron and I had crab cakes and the artichokes dishes. All of these were fantastic! What I couldn't finish, my husband happily did. We finished with dessert. You can't go wrong with any of the offers. No wine tonight. However I did ask for an Italian Ice and the bartender served up a delicious one! Eric was our server. He is a personable fellow who gives you time. No rush. The entire time spent at Peerless tonight was leisurely and very enjoyable.
