10 veggie soup was fairly tasteless and even though homemade tasted like canned; everything scone was so old and dry it crumbled, not in a good way, potatoes in potato salad were not cooked long enough and still had a bit of raw potato crunch. Potter’s Eatery is located in a beautiful brand-new building in the historic downtown Ames area. The interior is spacious and very well decorated. The large windows allow natural light to come in which creates a pleasant vibe. The staff members were very friendly and helpful. I’d highly recommend trying the breakfast sandwich as it’s completely customizable and offers a wide variety of options including different breads, meats, cheeses, vegetables, and sauces. The quality of the food was surprisingly top notch, and turned out to be probably the best breakfast sandwich in Ames! Stop by and give this place a try!
