This bar provides you with nice food and a place to rest after a long walk around Noma Square. You can share nicely cooked bisque, chicken & dumplings and coleslaw with your friends and spend a good time here. Most guests recommend trying tasty apple cheesecakes, biscuits and ice cream. I'm giving it five stars because of the location. The proximity to the noma stage where the City of Greenville has their Piedmont Natural Gas Main Street Friday concert series can't be beat! So many of my band's fans enjoy having a drink and dinner while watching us perform. And of course, Hot As A Pepper members enjoy eating there before or after a show too. It's a great place to sit and people watch while dining. It's also very large so it's great for groups to gather. I last had the filet and it was delicious. Drinks were tasty too. Wow! Excellent food and we were seated immediately since the restaurant is so large. I wasn’t sure what to expect from Roost since it’s located inside of the Hyatt, and hotel restaurants typically aren’t the best, however - it far exceeded my expectations! The quality of the food was wonderful. The service was helpful. Our meals tasted exceptional. I ordered the salmon with the duck fat fingerling potatoes and it was absolutely amazing. Good atmosphere and friendly server and bartender! Some dishes were great, and the others weren't good. The scallops were amazing, but the skirt beef was way too chewy. Ceviche was not real it was more like salmon salad. It was a great location inside of the hyatt Hotel and right by the Greenville main st. What an amazing hidden gem! It's right in the Hyatt Regency, yet it wasn't crowded. It's perfect for a quiet intimate dinner We started with sharable roasted beet dish. It was absolutely delicious with a wonderful combination of bright, herby, sweet, with a parsnip puree and just a bit of melt in your mouth crisp from the beet straws. We chose seafood for our entrees. I had seared salmon with Brussels and creamer potatoes sauteed in duck fat, then finished with a bourbon cream sauce. The salmon was perfectly cooked, tender, moist, and flaky. The sides were a decadent compliment the flavors combined for a wonderful savory bite. I paired it with a Malbec which was the perfect dryness to go with the duck fat. My husband had pan seared scallops with polenta and sweet potato. The scallops were seared to perfection. They were definitely top quality "dry scallops". They were well cleaned and the flavor was perfect all by themselves. Pair with the creamy and slightly sweet bite of polenta and sweet potato, it was divine. I wouldn't have thought to create a scallop dish with this combination. But it's definitely a great dish.
