Delicious sichuan restaurant. We are fans of the sister restaurant in Brookline, but decided to give this place a try. We were seated despite having no reservation on a saturday night. Our server was very nice, but the host was a bit grouchy. Atmosphere was great, wished we could have explored more of the restaurant though. I was expecting so much and maybe that was my first problem. It has a very starbucky feel to it with very impersonal service. Food was unremarkable and not very flavorful. The drinks were just OK especially for the price that they are charging and the effort put into creating their craft libations. At least, if the service was personable and not so robotic, it might’ve been a better experience, but I’m not even sure about that. I won’t be returning. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2

The food wasn't great. Very disappointed at the Sichuan pickles, it shouldn't be swimming in chilli oil. The crispy cumin fish didn't taste cumin at all. Dan Dan noodles not authentic. I had gone there last night 1/11/2024 around 7:30. I was supposed to go to a speak easy and Boston and instead of taking the drive we decided to come to this restaurant. I will say I was so surprised with the whole experience. The atmosphere is just something you don't normally get everywhere because its legit a house lol Which i loved. We sat at the bar and were immediately greeted by the bartender who was probably the highlight of our night. Great conversation was handling all clients in a timely manner and the drinks were just beautiful and tasted amazing. The food was ok, but we just tried apps so i feel like i would have to go back and try other things. I def recommend this little gem to anyone that's looking for a date night or an esthetic place to eat and I will def be back!!!! Absolutely a terrible experience! Everything went well until our host decided to insult us for apparently not leaving a “great tip”. Racial Bias pretty evident too! While processing the payment we asked if they “would mind clicking a picture”. At first they were fine with it but once they saw the tip in the POS terminal they replied- “I do mind actually and stomped off”. To this brash person, hospitality, courtesy and basic respect towards a customer comes with a condition- Tip Me Well! Tipping culture is certainly going out of hand with obnoxious individuals like this that have a deep sense of entitlement and normalize insult over a tip! Second time my experience was totally unpleasant. I will give it a ZERO. — I made a reservation but was late for 17 mins; Front desk girl told me they cancel my reservation after 15 mins if no show up. Understand. — Now she told me she can’t give me a seat until my partner gets here; What’s the point? You have PLENTY of seats open! — Lastly she instructed me to wait on a specific area; I was just standing near her counter what was wrong with that? Can you be more respectful to your guests? — Not welcoming at all; Sorry never came back again no matter how great your cocktails are. If this is how you serve your customers, I pity your customers.
