After enjoying Monterey Museum of Art - Pacific Street, visit this bar that is not far away. Cooks at Stokes Adobe do their best to provide visitors with tasty scallops, prosciutto and duck confit. Try good churros, crumble and bread pudding. The wine list is extensive, it can satisfy the needs of all guests. It might be nice to enjoy delicious coffee. Solid food, overall romantic, & nice staff. I tried looking for the perfect place for our anniversary. There are just so many to choose from in the Monterey/Pacific Grove/Carmel area. I settled with this one because it had the highest ratings, some history, & was consistently suggested by others online. We were satisfied with our choice. We started with the crispy potatoes. The flavour wasn’t over powerful & the sauce/cream it came with was perfect with it. I got the Wagyu steak. I wasnt extremely hungry & always wanted to try austrailian wagyu, so i was okay with a 7 oz steak. It was. Ore chewy than I thought it would be for a medium rare, but I understand why its only 7 oz. It was rich with flavour & I was satisfied with the amount I had. My wife got the mushroom pizza which was also really good. The dough was perfect & the asparagus topping was surprisingly good. Staff were all professional & actually read the notes we put in our online reservation because they all constantly said “happy anniversary” to us. That was a cool touch. Excellent dinner, we had the yellowtail crudo apetizer and halibut, pappardelle bolognese. All were delicious. Excellent service, she brought a slice of bread, no charge.
