This is THE spot for Real and authentic Mexican food. Not your typical Americanized “Mexican” food. Nice and courteous people. Get out of your quesadilla and burrito element and try everything else on their menu.Nada de comida gringonizada, nada de eso. Comida authentica. Ambiente chingon y gente amable y respetosa.

My boyfriend loves the Caldo here and I usually order the street tacos— 🌮 Al Pastor. Overall great flavors, but I would suggest a little more meat on each taco as an area for improvement! La Canasta gives you a generous portion of meat and are a great competitor in regard to street tacos! Excellent home made authentic Mexican food. It's about the food here, not the atmosphere. The best tacos lenguas I've ever had! Everyone was pleased with the food. Well I can't say El Zebas has the best Al pastor in Wausau because they are the only place we've tried since arriving in Wausau. I can tell you that we probably wont be going anywhere else for tacos. The Al pastor tacos were absolutely amazing. So good that when the (who I believed to be) owner came to ask us about our meal I had to put my taco down to shake his hand. This place has the best tacos in town. I eat way to lo many tacos...and there's a lot of places who can be good... But these guys are the most consistent. No matter the time of day.
