Delicious, though pricey. They offer custom-built burgers, and the meat was perfectly cooked. Bun, meat, and toppings were all amazing. Burger doesn’t come with fries, it’s an extra $4 to have it on the side. Two burgers and a side of fries ran about $50 after tax and the 18% included service charge. Great atmosphere. Loved sitting at the counter at the Counter. Outside. Had a nice "on a cruise" relaxing vibe. Burger was just delicious. Service was perfect. Akela is wonderful... attentive but let me me enjoy my time as well. Have me great recommendations every time I go there. Their burger are good! Great selection and they allow customization. They charge a tip of 18% irrespective of the group size which is kinda unfair. And 10% tip on take out orders. They have a few cocktails, hard liquor and beers on tap and bottled. Be prepared to wait for at least 30-45 min during dinner times. We love the Counter. We lived in the bay area for five years and we would typically go to the one in San Mateo. We were driving to see some friends and so we stopped here to grab dinner on the way up. The food was really good and the servers were very kind at first. Our food came out right away and was hot we had no issues with it whatsoever. The reason I’m giving this place three stars is at the end my wife order a milkshake to go. The milkshake wasn’t even full in the cup. And it wasn’t even the right one. The server even knowledge that they had made something wrong with it. So he asked if he could back. He came back and said the bartender won’t make a new one. So then I asked him if he would comp it. It was just something that could’ve been avoided. Service Dine in

The beauty of this place is that you can build your own burger. I am not a big fan of unhealthy burger, but when I can decide what goes in there from scratch; no guilt. Can get busy based on day and time. Might have to park and walk. 20% gratuaty by default 🤔 - reduced star for this. This should be optional not upon request. Can get expensive based upon your selection. Food is tasty and good with friendly staff. 4 stars for that. 🙏🏼

I really liked the ambience of this restaurant. This restaurant is a bit pricey. They charge a mandatory 20% gratuity on your bill which is clearly mentioned on their menu (irrespective of the number of people at the table). I had a mango Margarita, it was pretty good. The sandwich was pretty average didn't taste like wow to me. The wings were pretty good, well cooked. The staff is very humble and very prompt in service. Overall it was a good experience.
