Food was delicious and waitress was on point. Only down side, we were placed in a back room that didn't have the same ambiance as the rest of the restaurant. Lighting plays a BIG roll in the mood and tone of a place. It felt like we were in an add on that wasn't quite finished. Very blank, empty room. Limited decor and VERY bright. This increased the volume of the room. It ended up being very loud. Other than that. Top notch. Definitely recommend. Went here for an early valentines dinner. Food was amazing but the service was even better. My partner and I aren’t people who like to spend 3 hours at a table. The service was so fast, but yet didn’t feel rushed at all. We were able to get two drinks, an app, mains, and a dessert within a hour. Very attentive server who was friendly and still warm. Highly recommend. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

I had some shrimp and grits there about 8 months ago and it was mediocre. I had the same dish last week and it was the best shrimp and grits I've ever had. I like this restaurant. I like the atmosphere I like that it's on the outskirts of Gruene so you don't have to fight all the tourist traffic. Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

Amazing food, horrible service!!! We made a reservation for six people and the restaurant did not made us feel welcomed. We were accommodated in the patio area. It was a rainy night and the umbrella in our table was not working properly. They have 8 tables outside but only one umbrella “as per staff”. We decided to stay even with the inconvenience of the rain and the umbrella. There were two heaters near us and we asked if they could be turned on, to which the answer was “we’re not turning them on tonight”. After a while, we asked if we could move inside, to which we were told no. Eventually it started pouring and we had to take shelter inside. We then found out that there was plenty of space to accommodate us. Horrible service. Compliments to the chef though.
