Wellesley Bakery is owned by a lovely Cambodian refugee family and is considered by many as the town's hidden gem. The place itself is unassuming and casual but the food is impeccable and scrumptious. All the baked goods (bread, muffins, pastries), as well as soups, sandwiches, salads, quiches, are freshly prepared and delicious. In a town with people who can afford to eat anywhere, this place has been in business for nearly 30 years because the quality of the food is top notch, the prices are fair, and the people running it are kind and friendly. They are truly a part of the community and have a stream of customers that are both decades long regulars and people making pilgrimages for their pies (special ordered 3 times per year). One of my favorite places in the world for a quick bite. The Super Special Chicken Sandwich, pecan rolls, chocolate chip cookies, Lemon Chicken Soup, and fresh spring rolls are our household favorites.

This place has been on my list for a while now and I am sad I didn't make it here earlier. We got the following
1. Chicken special wrap - delicious
2. Chicken and rice soup - perfectly balanced and comforting
3. Broccoli quiche - stand out, the filling was buttery and so so so good. This came with a side of salad
4. Butter croissant - perfect to dip in the coffee
5. Apple croissant - perfectly balanced filling to dough ratio
6. Coffee - top notch.
I highly recommend you try them and I plan to add them to my monthly brunch rotation. Simple delicious food served in a warm cozy environment.
I used to live just above the bakery and every day I can smell the fresh soup simmering in the kitchen. The chicken soups for something warm and the gazpachos for hot summer days were both amazing. The pecan roll in croissant dough is a must for breakfast.
