It's always fun stopping in at A & W in Cortland....... Either sitting outside in your vehicle or going in and ordering through the telephone at your table....... I'm absolutely livid at the experience I just had at this restaurant. My brother, and I were the only people in the whole dining room after arriving at 8:15. The place is open until 10, but we were "treated" to sweeping and table wiping from 2 different servers directly around our table, at our backs, and next to us for the duration of our entire meal. One of the servers even returned to wipe the closest booths to us multiple times despite having already wiped them. She got so close to me at one point, she had to apologize. I could hear her breath in my ear. I have been a chef for 20 years. I am a food service veteran, and I have NEVER experienced anything like this behavior at any place I've worked, run, or eaten at in that time. We didn't come in with 20 minutes left. There was an hour and 45 minutes before close. Zero reason whatsoever to need to clean that urgently, and certainly not right on top of paying customers trying to enjoy their food unaccosted. Way too expensive for us. And the quality seems to have gone down. We drive all the way from Syracuse New York. And I think that's over because of our last experience. It's sad because my youngest son was a baby when we started going there. It was affordable and delicious and fun. My son will be 21 in March. Not driving all that way to be disappointed again. The speed of service is phenomenal and the servers and wait staff was also great!!!! Just lower the prices of everything please because I overheard other customers complaining about the prices when we were there too. It's just not my opinion. I love this place! Best pricing for fast food. Great service, always on time & friendly! They have the drive in which can get bust in the summer, but there's like a dozen spots. Always fun and delicious. 2 adults, 2 teens. We like to go inside, so once you've chosen what you want, you pick up the phone and put on your order. Food comes out quickly and they are always willing to fix anything that goes wrong. Cash only but there's an ATM on site. We haven't found anything we don't like yet!
