In a mall with tons of great dining options, Barrel & Bushel stands out for its variety of menu options and great atmosphere. I came here with my husband for happy hour/dinner before a movie, and the service was topnotch. Our server was very friendly and made us feel welcome as he told us about the happy hour specials. We started with beer and a giant pretzel. Then moved on to a salad with steak and the house specialty burger. Everything tasted great, and the portions were plenty filling. The beer, wine, and spirits options are quite good. The whiskey options are great....they showcase several local brands as well. I would definitely come back. Amazing. I’ve dined in before, and it was great. This time I ordered room service. Not only was it delivered incredibly fast (during a busy night) by a very friendly gentleman… it was also delicious. The hot chicken sliders were delicious. The vegetables were a little over cooked. Our service was terrible. Jose Luis was extremely inattentive. On several occasions we had to ask another server for something we needed. The drinks from the bar were delicious and well worth the money. Also the google menu online is not the same menu in the restaurant, be sure to check the website. Overall, the restaurant was good and worth checking out. This is a modern and upscale take on a bar. Tables are mostly communal style, with a couple of 4 seaters. They use high-quality ingredients in their food, and it's clear they take time to get the perfect presentation. Prices are a little on the high side. For instance, the kids' meal for a chicken dinner with fries is $14, and that's just a piece of fried chicken breast with fries and some carrot strips. Portions are good, though, and service is good as well. However, a couple of things made this a so- so experience for me: 1) The lamb burger I got was not good. I was expecting freshly ground lamb formed into a patty, but the patty was instead compact, dense, and had the consistency of gyro meat that taste pre-processed rather than fresh. 2) The waiter made a mistake with my order and served me a fried chicken sandwich rather than my lamb burger. When I told him my order was wrong, he took the entire order back and gave me a new one. This took a while, so I watched the rest of my family eat and wondered: what did they do with the chicken sandwich I got? Did they toss it or serve it to someone else? It would have made sense for them to let me keep the sandwich and just get me a new lamb burger, especially in the post-COVId Era. 3) After we ate, we felt surprisingly empty. Our bellies were full, but our mouths craved something more. I'm not sure what it was with the meal, but it didn't leave me satisfied. We didn't try any of the alcohol selection which they proudly advertised. Perhaps that would have elevated our experience.
