We ate at Bay Breeze today after a funeral. There were about 20 of us in the group. The food was outstanding and perfectly prepared. Our server did a terrific job and everyone was taken care of promptly. Great experience! Our family loves this restaurant, the food is great and the portions are even better. My wife and I are able to share a meal. We have two preteen boys who also share a meal and still bring food home. Took our Mom to Bay Breeze for her birthday. It was heavily crowded. Long wait times. They cleared a whole section out before cleaning tables and letting people sit to eat. We had to ask for silverware, and they never brought it. Someone in our party had to go get it from staff. The only thing good about the service was refilling our drinks. That's it. They were understaffed and clearly needed help. The management is poor because everyone waiting was there for the same amount of time. No one was moving or being seated. It's really not fair to the servers there pulling double duty because management can't hire enough people to work or whatever. I shouldn't have to come into your establishment and hear every excuse in the book. That's unprofessional and tacky. You don't complain about taking my money. I don't want to hear your complaints while you're serving me. The bathrooms were so nasty, my 75 yr old Mother couldn't even sit to go potty. Clean your restrooms several times a day. No excuses. Again, poor management!!! I love Bay Breeze but this place has declined from what it used to be. I would not recommend them to anyone at the moment. Do better! If I could give 0 stars I would. This restaurant is not what it once was, as far as the quality of the food goes. This is the third time I’ve ordered to-go and the fish was greasy as can be. We ordered fried fillet catfish. The fish was falling apart & super greasy! I even added a note for the staff to make the fish crispy. The staff forgot my side dish again… This is the last time I throw away money like that. Who wants fried fish that does not have a crisp at all and is greasy as can be? Waste of $35… If you want some of the best fish in the city, check out AJ’s fish and wings. The food is better & so are the prices. I was only not happy with my food, but when I went to pick it up, the doors were locked! Now I understand I ordered shortly before the restaurant closed, but if you knew I was your last take out order for the night, at least 1 door should be open. I had to call them to come open the doors! Not only that, they didn't even verify if I'm the person who placed the order! I could have been anyone, so needless to say, I will never come here again. In addition, my salmon with crab was overcooked, bland and and didn't look appetizing! I had to add hot sauce to it to eat it, so I'm sure my stomach will be very upset later. I was also confused by the hush puppies because they looked like large onion rings. One bite of that, and I spit it out because it was inedible. This food lacked the care and love that goes into a meal as my order reflected it. Whether it's the first order or the last order of the day, your food should be delicious and cooked with care.
