I went to Billy Joe's Ribworks last year, it offered a feast not just for my appetite but also for my eyes. The ribs were amazing, slathered in a smoky, tangy sauce that was finger-licking good. The sides were a perfect match, with creamy mac and cheese and crispy fries. But what truly took the experience over the top was the view from the deck. As I tucked into my meal, a stunning rainbow stretched across the darkening sky, framing the Hudson River and the rolling hills beyond. The mix of nature's beauty with delicious barbecue made for an unforgettable dining experience. Food was delicious, our waiter was kind and easy to talk to. Everyone was so helpful and kind. The high tide was coming in causing a flood into the restaurant and parking lot. The manager was leading my mother and I through the kitchen thinking we could exit the restaurant without getting wet but unfortunately the majority of the parking lot flooded a bit. One of the cooks decided to walk to his car and drive through the water to pick us up and bring us to our car so we didn't get wet. Such a gentlemen! - Visit date ( Dec 8th, 2023) - We finally found our favorite BBQ place in the Hudson Valley. After exhausting every last option we finally got good food! The smoked wings were absolutely fantastic and flavorful and the sauce is very good. The brisket was tender and melt in your mouth good. Pulled pork Mac and cheese was filled with a good amount of pork and the Mac was good! We enjoyed all the food we got. The service was actually extremely impressive. It’s the first time we felt like our waitress went out of our way in a long time as well as cared about us as a customer. We were sat immediately when we came in and everyone had a smile on their face. Tammy was our waitress and she did everything she could to make our experience perfect. Bringing out fresh cornbread and extra sauces and making sure we had everything we needed. Anthony who brought our food out was also extremely kind and friendly and offered to help if we needed anything. Place was extremely clean and well presented as well. Can’t wait to come back especially in the summer so we can experience the outdoors section. 10/10 all around spot! Thank you for a great dinner. The atmosphere was good and in some walls it's decorated in a way that reminds a scenario set. We ordered two big BBQ plates and it was delicious and quite big portions, enough to share among four people. The view is spectacular! There was a funny smell in the restaurant, like smelly feet and stale beer in the carpet. Why is there a carpet in this bar/restaurant? The warm pretzels. The fried pickles and roumelade, coleslaw, and mashed sweet potatoes were all amazing!! I was really disappointed in the ribs. They were really dry, even with extra BBQ sauce. Went once with my church group after service-we day outside overlooking the boats docked in the Hudson River. I thoroughly enjoyed the view, & the food was delicious, though I was a bit underwhelmed with my sides of mac & cheese and collared greens. We had a fantastic lunch at Billy Joe’s Ribworks during the week. The outdoor seating area overlooking the river is absolutely amazing, even on a windy day. We ordered ribs and brisket, along with some deep-fried pickles (although they were initially forgotten). The ribs and sides were delicious, and the brisket was tender and flavorful. The waitress was outstanding - friendly, with a great smile. Overall, it was a great meal with just a minor hiccup. Beautiful views, clean place, very busy and buzzy. Their food is delicious. Typical American cuisine with American portions without compromise on taste or quality. I’d recommend reservations on a weekend. Great for groups or a nice fun casual date. :) definitely a staple in the area. This place was awesome. Great views. Plenty of seating. Seated 13 of us on a whim. Food was fabulous. Service was great! Prices were great. Everyone tried something different . I had steak, shrimp, mashed potatoes and broccoli with cheese. My husband had the chicken and steak with baked beans. It was a worthwhile long wait to be seated. Sitting outside by the river is what I was looking for and the setting is very nice. The staff is great (especially the parking lot guys). The prices are fairly typical for bbq maybe plus a small view charge. The food is good and the serving sizes are generous but not absurd.
