Writing to review our service experience at Black Bear Diner in Orem, UT today. The food is typical diner food and always delicious. Our server today, Tucker, was exceptionally attentive and cheerful. We’ve been to this location several times, but today was our 1st time being served by him. He had a friendly conversation with us, he thoroughly knew the menu, we received our food quickly and he checked on us several times during our visit to be sure we had what we needed. Our experience at Black Bear Diner was truly enjoyable. The atmosphere was inviting, with a fun and quaint ambiance that made us feel right at home. Our server Beth went above and beyond, providing attentive and helpful service throughout our meal. At the end, without us asking, she offered to get us to-go cups for our water. We had never been asked that by any other server before. We were very impressed!! As for the food, while it was good, it didn't quite exceed expectations. The pancakes and waffles were tasty, but they didn't offer any unique or standout flavors. In essence, they were your typical breakfast staples. However, despite this, the overall dining experience was pleasant and satisfying. The combination of great service and a cozy atmosphere made for a memorable visit. If you're looking for a reliable spot for classic breakfast dishes in a charming setting, Black Bear Diner is definitely worth a visit. Food was really good, felt fresh and they have great selection of waffles and pancakes that really hits the spot. Thanks to my server, Jayden, who went above and beyond to meet my foodie demands. Great food and reasonable prices! The service tonight was good but it seemed like the staff had worked a long day already and had too few people especially with how busy they were still after 7pm. Had an experience this morning with this orem location that left me very disappointed in their customer service. I ordered an online order that was delivered to me about 40 mins later which is expected but I realized my order was completely wrong. I ordered chicken sausage, eggs with cheese, fruit and wheat toast. what i received was some weird looking scramble, egg whites, spinach and mushrooms . just looked disgusting. I called and told the employee about the situation and as soon as I said I was frustrated, they hung up. i thought it was an accident so I called back and told them that we must have been disconnected , and they responded then I told them the same story and they hung up on me again. i called back and asked for a manager, (a male ansererd this time) he was very kind and handed phone to manager. the manager said it was her on the phone and she didnt hang up, she just didnt hear me. maybe this is true but seemed she could hear me in each phone call. she then didnt seem super empathic to my situation and basically just told me that they didnt have chicken sausage so they gave me that? i just told her that she should have given me the eggs and cheese, and bread too, not something completely different. she just said she will tell them to make sure the order is correct next time. i work in customer service and i am manager myself, i get it can be difficult but i would never treat a customer like this. its sad that it was a manager that treated me like this. ive only been to the AF location and ive never had a bad experience with them but i will never go back to orem location.

My husband and I took my parents here for their anniversary and usually it's ok. But this time was different. The waitress staff was great but the food on the other hand was absolutely not. The waitress let me order off the kids menu seeing as the mini corn dogs sounded very good but when those corn dogs got to my table I wasn't impressed. The corn dogs were absolutely WAY over cooked and the fries were old and cold. I ate what I could because obviously I was hungry and I wasn't about to wait another 20 mins for a replacement meal. If that would have come out for a child they would have refused it instantly. Also both my parents got cold mashed potatoes with their meals. This used to be a great place I'm not sure what happened. Food Quality: It was amazing I got the country fried steak with house potatoes with 2 fried eggs and a biscuit. The taste is amazing. I’ve gotten this a few times and I love it. The serving portions were alright! I’m comparing it when the last location I went in St. George it was ginormous. Service: it was great! The server was very attentive and quick. She refilled our drinks with quickness. I was like impressed because she had a couple of tables and she did great taking care of all of them. Cleanliness : It was neat and tidy. Our table was wiped down before we sat down. Pricing : I think the pricing is fair. I mean if I get the same big amount I’m used to then it’s worth it. Definitely try this place if you haven’t been.
