Best sandwich shop around. This is the original one and its in the best location. Easy to take one to-go and bring it to the beach, or stay and have an ice cold brew while there. You must get their sauce if you go. In my opinion it what makes the sandwich SO incredibly good. I usually get the cold ones (turkado) but i have had the chicken sandwich as well which was great. Please don’t ever eat a salad there. I’ve gotten food poisoning twice from there in 12 months. The first time was mild, not a tremendous issue. The second time (yesterday) was one of the worst bouts of food poisoning I have ever had. I ate exactly one thing yesterday, their salad and within 6 hours I was violently dealing with food poisoning. What a wonderful, open, and pleasing place. We have eaten at different Board and Brew locations, but none are as fun and inviting as this one. Even though it was a bit busy the people behind the counter were cranking out the food. Ours arrived quickly and was spot on. Our orders are always a challenge because of food allergies. While waiting we had casual conversations with other people who were there. The experience was great overall and whenever we are driving through this will be our lunch spot for sure. This place has that Beach town vibe and here is why you will love it: 1. The food is great! But more impressively, this shop is a well oiled machine, because trust me when I say, this place was packed with people ordering lunch. Despite how busy it was they got our order no problem and it came out relatively fast. 2. Plenty of space to find a seat to eat, I think the hardest point of access was just finding parking. It was busy on new years day so I'm assuming there were more people than normal to be fair. 3. Awesome surf vibe. Spotted some Dragon and Rusty stickers that I have not seen in years. Also a dragonball sticker. Overall just a really cool place. Overall the Board and Brew in Del Mar was a perfect place to stop and get some food. I would definitely recommend if you need something fast and you are on the go. Check out my photos to get a sense of the space. Fast and friendly service! It’s a cute spot for lunch in Del Mar with good sandwich options, though I can’t speak to GF options. I recommend the Turkado sandwich, plenty of flavor and the sourdough wraps it up nicely.
