I was searching for a Jamaican spot for lunch, but accidentally arrived to this place, I was pressing for time..since it was during a lunch break, so i decided to just get it, and babyyy let me tell you!! The food was excellent, tasteful, and very filling!! They give a decent amount of food for the price!! Both my daughter and I enjoyed the food!! I will be going back!! Ribs were outstanding. It was sweet and flavorful just like ribs should taste. Fried catfish was small and very over priced but tasted good. Bbq chicken was a bit dry but still tasted ok. All their side dishes were nothing to rave about and did its job. Place is very small and dingy with only one small table for 4 to sit. Overall the food was great, service was lacking (but got better when a tip was given on my first order). It's my new place for Bbq ribs. I was sick for 2 days from this awful salty food. I use to go here years ago & my friend & I ordered Christmas dinner & it was good. So I decided to stopped by on Thurs. 1/18/2024 on my way home from work & ordered my regular: Turkey Wings (were tough as nails), collard greens (salty as heck), Mac & Cheese (not great but ok), & I never liked their cornbread (dry as a chip with no flavor). The Server gave me so much food for almost $20 I said well I’ll have enough for my lunch the next day. After eating some that night (which I truly didn’t enjoy),, I took the rest to work to pick over for lunch but it was only good for the garbage. I don’t know what this Owner is doing, but he needs to bring back the Sistas, the cooks in there do not have a clue…I’m DONE! I just heard from my friend that the Wyandanch place is just a bad…I’m sure they’re losing business & if not they definitely lost me.👎🏽 On to the Jamaican Restaurant. Don't do it!! They Grints look like a lumpy BBL gone wrong, fried fish was oily AF, not fresh at all, turkey wings looking like roach legs ..going back in the am to get full refund!! Two Spanish ladies serving soul food?? Nahhh.. I tried to not give this place a star but had to give one star just to post this horrible review..Anyone saying this place taste like grandma is cappp'nn. After my third messed up order I feel like I have to leave a review. There were multiple mess ups like fried chicken being bbq, green beens instead of broccoli, missing items, pink chicken, when they have there stuff together this place is great but its gone down hill! This place is hit or miss. Last night was a hit! Whoever made the batch of mac n cheese and yams last night between 5:30pm & 6pm need to make it all the time! It was delicious! I also got the ribs. I was given too many fatty pieces but otherwise it was good. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 2

This is the kind of good cookin soul food I was after! They offer some epic takeout trays! Best ribs I’ve had in quite some time, as well as the Mac n cheese! Their chicken thighs are bangin! I’ll be back to try some more great eats from here!

Scrumptious soul food. I'm from the South and this is just how we make it back home down to the conbread. Just get it. Don't think about it. I don't know about calling in, I just show up and order.

It takes a lot out of me to write this review especially at a place that I often eat I came into this establishment to order some pork chops for me and the family as I was waiting in line there were another customer ahead of me and they was ordering the same thing. The representative told The customer in front of me that she only has one pork chop and she is not making any more ..... well to my surprise I was told again very blunt that there's only one pork chop and she's not making any more. So I ask again because normally and the other they tell you it will take about 15 to 20 minutes it will be a while. This is what I was expected but to my surprise again she told both of us she has one pork chop and is she's not making any more it is just the two of them there any problems you see Tommy it is not her problem. I don't know if the customer service representative in this establishment needs some Training but I hope after this review she will be evaluated for the training that she will need in the upcoming future to deal with situations when they arise. I was very disappointment to know there was no chance that she was going to make it it's not because they didn't have it she told me she was not making it there was a whole lot more said but this was the part of the conversation that made me sour and it had me come on here to write a review I never thought that I would be writing a review in my own Hometown since most of my travels for work is out of the u.s. so in my conclusion I will tell most of my followers that yes this is a very good Ixtapa shmon if you want some very tasteful Soul food. But they also need to recognize that this is not the only establishment to eat food there is three more and Amityville to eat from like I told the representative I will be doing this because I'm a voice of course she says she doesn't care. So by the way my favorite is in the morning I get the grits and fish with egg and cheese this platter is unbelievable that grits is tasteful but not lumpy I highly recommend this dish.... at night I have the turkey wing with a side of macaroni and cheese and gravy from the yams.. now 1 of a customer service representative that is here is Stephanie she's the one who always deal with me but she was night here tonight
