We were there for an event in the main restr. (not the waterfront tiki bar they own across the street - which is Very popular, esp. in the summer!), in the large, back, reception room. Service was Wonderful, accommodating, friendly, fast (which is hard to find these days!) Food was Delish. Everyone at my 8-top table loved their meals. It is an Older, well-known place. Went here for our anniversary and we were seated very close to a table of about 25 people. Some of the people were gathered standing quite close to our table yacking and there were 2 kids out of control running around. It ruined our dining experience. We returned a year later and had a completely different experience. Everything was perfect and delicious. Coming to the Captain's Inn tiki bar always reminds me of summer. The nice breezes by the river, the boats coming and going, the outdoor experience and live music, this is pinnacle of summer for me! The burger was amazing, and for the price the crab cake was also very good. Very decent price for a dozen clams which probably were still in the water earlier that day. If you really want to feel summertime, come out here, play, eat and stay for the live music. Definitely try to catch the naked apes, they are amazing! Food was good but not great. Taste was good but portions were smaller than last time I was there. My clam was hiding under a green bean. Stuffed flounder hardly had any stuffing, and fish was small. The scallops were plenty and flavorful but had no char on them. Baked potatoe was small and dry. All in all it was a good meal not great and expensive. I'll come again in the off-season. My husband and I recently chose The Captain's Inn to cater our wedding on June 17th, 2023 and they did a phenomenal job! We decided to rent a hall and Debbie and her staff were a dream to work with leading up to and on our big day! She provided excellent service and fantastic food on our wedding day. She went above and beyond to ensure that our wedding day would be perfect, and it was! We can not say enough good things about The Captain's Inn!!! The food on our wedding day was tasty, hot, and just the right texture. Our wedding cake was beautiful and tasted delicious. The staff set up our décor and did an amazing job as I could not even picture it looking as amazing as it did. If you are looking to book a caterer for your wedding day, you found the right place! We stopped in for dinner after we had finished training down the road. Tracey was our server and she did an amazing job taking care of us. The food was amazing and I had to have seafood entree being so close to ocean and I've never been happier with my decision!
