Cracker Barrel prides itself on being consistent throughout their chain. If you've been to one of them, you've been to them all. While the food is nothing outstanding, it certainly isn't bad food. I was introduced to them back in 1993 when I worked for them opening their first store in the Houston area, and I've never had a bad experience with the company. They set out to carve out a niche in the restaurant industry for themselves and have done an admirable job of it. I've been to locations all over the country, and I know that I'm not going to get a bad meal or have a disappointing experience. Just good down home country cooking, served with a smile by friendly people. Most of our food was good. Our waiter was a good kid, still learning. But the kitchen lost our ticket. The manager finally decided to come over after 30 minutes of waiting and seeing us watch others get their food. He blames the mishap on our waiter, even tho my husband watched the kid punch it in the computer. Manager offered some biscuits to tide us over till our food came. And it was Valentines Day. We both enjoyed our meal. Even though we ate at lunch time I had mama’s breakfast because I was craving pancakes. The scrambled eggs and bacon were perfectly cooked and delicious. My wife had the maple bacon grilled chicken and thought it was real good. We will definitely eat at this restaurant again so we joined the rewards program.
