Best place to eat on the island, in my opinion. Forget all the Pal‘s. Great fish, pancakes, attentive service. Group of 4 twice in August 2023. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Unfortunately the place was full inside and the staff wasn't really willing to assist us in finding a table. We were rather ridiculed for not having a reservation. Outside it was windy and rainy at times. So we left without having the option to test the experience. A pity.

We visit this restaurant in our most recent visit in Texel and it left us with mixed feelings and some room for improvement. As we entered the restaurant, we were greeted with disappointment as it was fully occupied and no seating was available indoors. We had no choice but to settle for an outdoor table, which unfortunately affected the overall dining ambiance and experience. When it came to the food, we decided to try their burger and biterbalen. While the dishes were decent, they failed to impress and fell within the realm of average. The flavors lacked that extra touch of culinary creativity and excitement, leaving us feeling somewhat underwhelmed. Furthermore, we were disappointed to discover that the beer selection was quite limited. With few options available, we settled for the standard beer from Texel, missing out on the opportunity to explore a wider range of flavors. Despite these drawbacks, the service was a redeeming aspect of our visit. The staff members were attentive, friendly, and did their best to accommodate the crowded conditions. Their prompt service and willingness to address our needs were appreciated and added a positive touch to our experience. In conclusion, our experience was marked by the disappointment of not finding indoor seating, average food quality, and a limited beer selection. While the service provided was commendable, these aspects prevented us from fully embracing and recommending the restaurant. They are quite busy with so many diners.. food is good but average, pricy compared to our other meals.. best was the vanilla ice cream with warm berries.. ice cream was so creamy.. since it’s located close to the bike/hike route, an ideal stop.. For some early-afternoon drinks is this a great place in the area. Few things to keep an eye out for are: it can be really busy around the day, notice the opening hours which are not as expected (opening late and closing kind of early), this Cafe-Restaurant is very suitable for dogs and their owners. Our overall time was great, will come here again!

Very polite waitresses and a big menu (including correct German). The food is very tasty (we ordered 3rd days in a row). I would highly recomment this restaurant!

Lovely little spot for a break in that area but unfortunately they don't have batista coffee, just the machine stuff so was forced to drive back to De Koog for a proper caffeine fix. Just a really old school classic Texel restaurant with a wide range of food around the midrange price for the island. The pancakes are a solid option!

Good place for stop for lunch during bike trip to lighthouse on Texel. Seafood and traditional Dutch food. A few minutes from view like this one.... So you can take a walk and then finish with coffee or lunch. There is a spot to recharge EV cars as well.
