Bistek Tagalog Pork
I decided to try out a new type of cuisine for me. Philippine food. The food was tasty and the staff was very friendly although the service was quite slow. They had a great variety of dishes such as Bistek Tagalong, Pork Adobo, and Pancit Noodles. If you go, I would recommend the halo halo dessert.

I am impressed with this quaint Filipino Restaurant in the outskirts of Austin. I feel the Philippine vibe. I ordered the sinigang was great as well as the halo-halo. I highly recommend this place!

Filipino Spaghetti
Drive by this little restaurant all the time and finally stopped in. I love Filipino food and ate it all the time in Hawaii and Seattle.
This restaurant has dine-in and drive through. Nice and clean with comfortable seating. Fun decor!
The food was ok and it came out quick and hot.
We had the lumpis appetizer, the Curry, and Pork Adobo. The rice was a little mushy and unfortunately the lumpia were on the burnt side. The filling was so ground up that we couldn't discern the different flavors. However, the curry was very tasty and in both dishes, the portions were great with a lot of meat.
I am going to give it another try and hope that the things come out better.

Pork Adobo over Rice w 3 Egg Rolls
The Bistek Tagalog was extraordinary. It came with a bowl of gravy. I couldn't decide whether the steak tasted better by itself or dipped in the gravy. So I alternated. Really good either way. And then add in the onion. Wow. I don't remember what the soup was called but it was quite tasty.

We got the bistek w/garlic fried rice, inihaw na liempo, lechon kawali, and Philly cheesesteak egg rolls. Everything was delicious! Very authentic taste and so much flavor. Highly recommend the lechon and Philly cheesesteak egg rolls

Wow... beyond disappointed. I'm looking at the good reviews thinking you people must not have taste buds. I asked for Chicken panict... not a single piece of chicken in it, hardly any veggies and bland. The lumpia.... bland. The pork skewers tender but bland.
I have had real authentic Filipino food in Hawaii and absolutely love the cultures beautiful flavors. This was a total disappointment and waste of $26.
Sorry Elsie, your vision is definitely lost in your decision to make the food palatable to everyone. Either people like and want the authentic Filipino flavors or they can go eat McDonald's. Put the culture back in your food.

Pancit Noodles w 3 Eggrolls
It's really good service and solid food every time we go here. Usual order for us is 2 orders of the pancit with 3 pork egg rolls and spicy sauce. The bbq pork skewers are also really tasty. We got some ube pandesal to eat later. I tried it before, and they are delicious! Excellent dining experiences are had here.

BBQ Pork Skewer
Austin has such a scarce variety of Filipino food. So when I decided to try out Elsie’s in Hutto, I was not disappointed. Friendly staff first of all. Service was quick. I got the chicken adobo. It was served with a delicious potato and pork soup as well as an egg roll on the side. You’re able to choose pork, chicken, or vegetable. Of course I got pork and it was great! Tasted almost like my mom’s. Almost. The chicken adobo was good. For me there was a little bit too much “sabaw” or shall I say soup. I personally like mine a bit thicker and less of but everyone makes adobo differently and it still did not take away from the fact that it was delicious! I love that an egg was served alongside it too! Lastly, I got gulaman to drink. Whenever I see gulaman on a menu, I have to get it because it reminds me so much of my childhood. I got it Elsie’s style as well which included cream and it absolutely tasty! Overall, the best Filipino restaurant around the Austin area and that’s why I give it a five. I can’t wait to try other things on the menu next time!
