Great new start up business with a refreshing twist on the food scene in bear lake Utah. I recommend the sweet Cole slaw, the savory baked beans, and tri tip sandwiches. The flavor was homey and nostalgic. The owners are a friend of a buddy of mine so they came out and chatted with us while we ate. They are very kind and open. Plus they are one of the only restaurants that remain open during the winter. With a plan of a drive through, and food delivery, hang outs, live music, and creating an environment for fun, I see this business sticking around. I will say the Mac and cheese seemed a little overcooked and mushy and the rice seemed undercooked and dry. I want to give them credit though because we came on a day during a snowstorm where it appears no one was on the road. So I can just imagine it had been sitting out longer then expected.

We ate there last night and it was AWESOME!!! I definitely recommend the sampler platter. And I've been saying this in a joking manner. But it's kind of true. We've been staying in our motor home in Arizona. All winter, and I have been waiting to get up here 800 miles and try the food they did not disappoint.

Having been to every other restaurant Bear Lake has to offer, we were pretty excited to try something new, particularly after reading all of the good reviews. I'll start with the good. The people running the place are incredibly nice and accommodating. I almost didn't do a review because they were so nice, but one of the women approached us as we left and encouraged us to write one, no matter how brutally honest. The baked beans and coleslaw are excellent. The butter toasted buns are a nice touch. Instead of bad, I'll follow with the "meh." The pulled pork was...okay. It wasn't smoked, so the flavor of the meat was lackluster at best. The BBQ sauce was pleasant, but not exceptional. The mac and cheese was good, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. Now for the bad. The teriyaki chicken was incredibly salty. Had it not been for the rice to soak up the salt, it may have been near inedible. I ordered the lobster rolls. Having had lobster rolls many times, being from the east coast, and having lived in Maine, these were so far off they couldn't even be called, fusion. I took one bite, and it was inedible. It was as if it had come out of the freezer and had not completely thawed. It was flavorless and, although my expectations are fairly low for Utah seafood, the meat bore no semblance to lobster. On a non food related note, the bench seats are incredibly unstable.
Since they are so nice, I do hope they get the food and seating issues straightened out.
