Ambiance (4/5): We came to dine on a weeknight which proved to be very bustling and sadly did not get to enjoy the views. Plenty of parking space in the front lot. There is a lower and upper floor. The tables are nested pretty close together that there was hardly 6 inches between the back of the chairs to scoot around. There are taxidermy heads and antler chandeliers as decor. Service (4/5): For some reason they have the female staff wearing mini skirts. The staff was friendly but not overly such. The bill came out kindly split by food vs drinks! Cocktails range between $18-20, hence the no price tag on the menu. Free candy at the hostess desk. Food: Dungeness Crab Cakes (4/5): The crab cakes were mostly crab and not filler! I wish it had a more pronounced taste or more than a few decorative drops of the Dijon horseradish aioli. The dill salad was a great refreshing bite that complemented the crab. Prime Rib French Dip(2/5): The dip came a little cold with the bread absolutely soggy before even getting a chance to dip into the soup. The prime rib was tender but the whole sandwich had absolutely no taste. The French fries however were cooked to perfection--with a wonderful crunch in every bite, seasoned with salt. Jessica and I opted for a mid-week visit to avoid the weekend rush, which, from what we’ve heard, can be quite the scene. Seated at the bar, we were immediately drawn into the vibrant atmosphere, with stunning lake views as our backdrop. The bartender, doubling as a waitress, was a master of her craft, effortlessly juggling conversations while mixing drinks. I decided to test the culinary waters by requesting an off-menu item. With a quick chat with the kitchen staff, our bartender made our food dreams a reality. It’s this kind of accommodating spirit that elevates Garwoods from good to glorious. The place offers a plethora of options, both in terms of food and drinks. Every item we tried was a testament to their commitment to quality and flavor. A MUST if you are in North Tahoe City!!! They views alone are the reason to go, but really the food is outstanding! Full of flavor! Their drinks are delicious too. Great food on the beach of Lake Tahoe. Staff is amazingly friendly and Taylor and Tori are amazing! They know how to treat people right! Gluten-free friendly and you won't be disappointed by anything you order. Flat out great experience!
