This is my favorite BBQ place. My boyfriend and I always come here for date night. They have great gyros, brisket, and pulled pork! But honestly, I think my favorite is the coleslaw. It's creamy and sweet, just like it should be! The owner is very nice and seems to always be checking in on everyone and brings you your desserts. The customer service is fantastic, the young lady taking our order was very helpful and very nice. The food i dont even know where to begin other than it was out of this world delicious totally worth the 35 minute drive to get here. The sauce was so yummy, the ribs to die for fell off bone, so juicy. The pulled pork was tender and the bun was toasted which made it that much better. The baked beans had so much flavor. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. This was my first time here and I will be back many more times. Kudos to the entire staff, to the service, the food and the extremely clean restaurant which beautiful decor. Fantastic ribs. Fantastic gyros. Normally pretty good mac and cheese but tonight they legitimately served us Kraft Mac and cheese to go. I'm not saying it tasted like Kraft, I'm saying it actually was kraft Mac and cheese. Pretty lame considering the price of it. That's why they are only getting 4 stars. Otherwise, I love this place. When it comes to BBQ in the far west of the Fox Valley the pickings are pretty slim so it's been a real comfort to find a place like Gemato's where I can go even though it’s a bit of a hike when I get a hankering for some slabs of smoked ribs, tips, jumbo shrimp or even a gyro. Their menu also seems to be the best value for the prices when compared to any other bbq places. Ordered a half slab with a baked potato and cole slaw and that was all cooked well and tasted good. I love their tangy bbq sauce and the way it pairs well with the flavor of their smoked meats. I also ordered a half bbq chicken and it was a little dry but still pretty good still with the sauce. I might order an extra side of sauce if I were to get chicken again just in case. The restaurant has a local fast casual style so I usually just order takeout but the staff is friendly and the interior is always clean so I probably wouldn’t mind enjoying my food inside either. I'm fairly certain that if you call directly in when you place your order you can save a little bit on takeout fees so keep that in mind. Came here for my birthday and the food was so freaking phenomenal. Portions are well served and the place is a nice cozy relaxed atmosphere type of establishment. Will definitely be back. Ribs were cooked perfectly and the sauce is really, really good. Had a birthday coupon for a free 1/2 slab dinner. The baked potato was baked perfectly and very steamy. Simply delicious! Everyone in our group loved everything they had. The meat was tender, the fries were crispy, and the saices were flavored just right.
