The atmosphere is WOW! History lesson! The service was out of this world! Down to earth, caring ~ made us feel like we have been coming here for years as soon as we walked in! Felt very at home! The French onion soup, lobster/crab bisque- fantastic! Corned beef sandwich is great - homemade (not deli sliced!). Highly recommend! We just happened upon this place while staying at a hotel for an early a.m. flight. SO glad we chose here!!!! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Our experience must have been a one-off. The service was friendly but excruciatingly slow. It took us a couple of hours between being seated and finishing our meal. And we were not lingering or eating slowly. Everyone brought their appetites. Unfortunately, the food was by far the worst part. My ribs were dry and practically tasteless. The shrimp was a decent size but was more rubbery and chewy than the calamari. 4 of the other 5 people at my table also had complaints about their food... overcooked, dry, cold, etc, etc. I wouldn't let our experience deter you from giving them a shot. We came here after my cousin's husbands funeral. Great choice! We all grew up in Schiller Park.. This is a well known establishment. Used to be just a bar. All our parents went there! Now it's a restaurant, too! We had a great family style meal! Love the wind turbine outside! Our little town is growing up!! Thanks!! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
