My husband and I visited this establishment a week ago and the customer service was great at all. My husband tried on different occasions to ask the waitress something and she threw us off to the young lady running the cashier. I'm not sure if it was because of the color of our skin but she was making sure everyone around us was OK and constantly checking on them meanwhile my husband tried to ask for something she didn't respond. Really good food. Our server, Izzy, was super sweet. We sat in a booth by the pickup window and I could see and hear the cooks and they seemed happy and had a good, friendly working relationship. Buffet Lunch is Good. The seafood gumbo needs some improvement to meet Louisiana standards. Only Shrimp and gravy. Needed Gumbo File’ or something. More seafood. Great food !! I ordered the catfish basket and it was delicious. My husband ordered the crawfish etoufee and the catfish po boy and loved it. The food was fresh and hot ! The service was great. We had the steak/shrimp and Taste of the Bayou. The gumbo was absolutely phenomenal, the red beans and rice great as well. My wife's steak was a perfect medium, the sides of green beans and baked potato salad were on point as well. Yes they are a bit short staffed but who isn't these days. Traveling again for work. Google helped me find Gumbo Pot. Walked in Monday early evening and quickly found out that it's seems to be a popular place with the locals. It was busy. Ordered the Seafood Gumbo with a side of sweet potato fries. The potion was adequate it was full of flavor, and the price reasonable. As the evening progressed the place started to be a bit less busy. A sign of the times possibly due to being a small restaurant, is that they charge an extra 4% if you pay with a card. Not really a surprise as everything is clearly labeled in the bill and there are several signs posted. I will definitely come back here when in the area. I enjoyed eating at the Gumbo Pot during my visit to Vicksburg MS. I had the fried shrimp, oysters, catfish and white chocolate bread pudding. Of course I couldn’t go the Gumbo Pot and not try the gumbo. It was alright, the taste was different than I’m use to. Although the shrimp and fish was good, I think that the oysters and the white chocolate bread pudding was my favorite. There’s a variety on the menu to please everyone in your group.
