A little background to set my tone. First generation Cuban American born and raised in Miami where the first language is Spanish. I was amazed at the authenticity of the dishes and the flavor. On my first visit, I had the steak with the Cuban Mojito with the customary sides. The steak was amazing as were the black beans. My first visit went so well I went back the following weekend and had the Roasted Pork dish. That too was authentically aaaasmaazing! I followed it with their Cortadito for two and I was taken to my home and mornings with my grandmother. I loved the atmosphere and the homey vibe with salsa playing in the background. If you’re looking for good Cuban food and a great ambiance, I’m sure Havana Kitchen will meet your needs. I ordered the Bodega sandwich and my brother the Cuban; and we shared halves of each. Both of us agreed, the Cuban was the most delicious Cuban sandwich we've had without having to go to Cuba (compared with our travels across the Gulf Coast and Central/South America). The Bodega was a delightful breakfast sandwich served with rice and frijoles negroes (these were delicious enough to be eaten by themselves). Their espressos were also delicious and semi-strong, but came a bit slow due to the large number of morning coffee orders. Free street parking was not too hard to find early in the morning (half a block away). Will come again to try the lunch & dinner menus. What a cute place on a side street off the main old town street. Food is great. Had the shredded beef bowl (ropa vieja). Husband had the saffron rice and chicken bowl. So good. Reasonable prices. Have a coffee corner and a bar corner. Nice front patio, too, for dining. Sangria looked yummy. Pastries looked fabulous. So much to try! Will be back soon.
